Love That Spice — Restaurant in Highland Park

What a great experience! Our friends had suggested that we go and check out this adorable shop. We got there and Marlena, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming! They have a great variety of creative dried teas, bomb smoothies, loads of spices and beautiful tea sets. The smoothies we wanted to order both had bananas in them and sadly they didn't have any bananas. Not a big deal so we looked at the menu to try and find another selections when her employee offered to go out and get some bananas for us if we were willing to wait. We we're astonished that she would offer such a kindness for us just so we could have a great experience. So we were like yea we will wait, we went and walked around and circled back to the shop. We also ended up buying some dried teas too. We tasted our smoothies AND THEY WERE WORTH THE WAIT. Marlena asked us where we were from and we drove about 45 minutes to see her shop. She was so surprised that we came to see her shop and then we even had to wait for our drinks, so she wanted to buy our drinks for us. We both said absolutely not because they went out of their way to make sure we even got what we wanted when they didn't have to/we didn't even ask! She tried to insist but I told her it really wasn't a trouble and we like to support local or small businesses. Today is the next day and we tried one of the dried teas we got and Marlena it tastes AMAZING. We made the green tea fat burning one and it tastes great hot or chilled. Wow! This place is incredible. Any experience starts with the people and Marlena and Rohan pour their heart and soul into their business. They are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about all their products. Their shop is beautifully decorated and welcoming. Their ginger turmeric latte is delicious and I have purchased both their wild Forest 7 mushroom blend and their ceremonial grade matcha which are also amazing. Each has become a staple in my morning routine. I also purchased one of their Radiant Love candles in the scent "Gain" and I am so glad I did. It is coconut soy which sometimes lacks scent, but not this one. It is beautiful. Overall, this shop is an amazing experience and my mom and I will continue to visit for all our new staples.
