Chick-fil-A — Restaurant in Hillsboro

I’d like to preface this mediocre review by saying that overall, the staff is extremely friendly and efficient in the drive through. Unfortunately, there is some sort of disconnect consistently at this location that has caused us to get the wrong order. They quickly took my order, repeated it correctly, ran my card, greeted me by name at the merging section, repeated my order correctly again, guided me as to who to follow, and within 45 seconds I was at the pickup window with my fresh food. For the third consecutive time, however, the food I got was completely wrong.

The first time my food was given to me incorrectly, I ordered a spicy deluxe meal and was given the normal chicken sandwich instead. To me this was a little frustrating since I was craving the spicy, but I had already returned to work and it made no sense to go back and correct it.

The second time, the drive through was a mad house, but I had the same great order taking experience. When I parked my car in the next parking lot over, I was starving and pulled out chicken nuggets instead of my spicy deluxe and except for my drinks, the rest of the order was completely wrong. Not wanting to go through the hassle of waiting in the drive through or finding a non existent parking spot, I again ate my disappointing order.

This time, I ordered two spicy deluxe combos, and two plain chicken sandwiches which was repeated back to me twice correctly. By the time our food was handed off to us, the gal at the drive through had already gotten the next order ready to go at the window for the next customer. We checked the bag and everything appeared correct so we drove off. We parked the car and again were greeted with an incorrect order and were given the normal chicken deluxe, NOT the spicy.

Everything about the drive through experience is flawless and very painless and efficient. There seems to be a fatal flaw behind the scenes in the packaging department. This was the very first time that we went to a chick-fil-A. We saw a tv commercial of a salad with grilled chicken breast and that’s what got us interested in going there. There were 2 long lines of cars and 2 staff members were taking orders. While moving slowly through the line, we wish there was a menu for us to look at, particularly that we’ve never been there before. When we got to the front of the line, we were asked what we want to order. We didn’t know what it was called but we described it best we can. Then we noticed that behind the person taking the order, was a posted menu. We suggested that they put another menu further down close to the entrance. She said she had already brought that up with management but she was not receptive. She read to us our order; it sounded correct. I also pointed out the item on the menu. She then asked if we want a small or large salad. We said large. Then we proceeded to the next person who verified our order. That too sounded correct. We got to the window and picked up our order. When we got home, to our dismay, what we got were 2 tiny salads of kale and cabbage. Not even close to our order. We called the store and the manager, Ashley called us back. She explained to us the difference between the 2 salads like we didn’t already know this. We told her that adding a posted menu in the drivethru would’ve been very helpful. She said we should download the app and look-up the menu there. She made several suggestions on what we need to do to make sure they got our order right next time. I am not a carnivore but I love their amazing delicious always, and I mean 100% of the time, hot and fresh waffle fries. If I am going to consume the fat and calories of fries I want them to be piping hot and crispy and delicious! They are always fresh here and it's a great treat. The salads are bomb, always fresh, and I love the kale salad. I am not a fan if their packaged dressings, a bit to tangy for me, but the salads are fresh and crispy enough to eat plain or I just get some Polynesian dip and use that (don't knock it till you try it! :). The other neat thing is that when you go through the drive through, although you might wait a bit to get to the window because this place is so popular, they hand you your food and you are off in record time. I am not a fan of the new orange smoothie drink. I found it expensive and quite flavorless. It tasted like a very watered down Orange Julius. I think it was extra disappointing because the lemonade one is so good and has a nice strong creamy lemon delicious flavor. Anyways, kale great, salads great, lemon freeze great, and waffle fries amaaaaazing! 😁 We also enjoy sitting outside in the nice seating area.
