Went for dinner with the family to celebrate my daughters birthday. Was extremely dissatisfied. There was 8 of us and All 8 of us said the sodas were terrible, the iced tea wasn’t great, and the PLAIN water tasted horrible. When the appetizers came, the Apple Brie with toast came with moldy bread. We told the waitress and she was very polite and professional and wanted to replace everyone’s drink. We did not want to take a chance and order the same, so ordered bottles water and soda. When we told the waitress about the moldy bread, she took that away and said would send the owner over to us. When the owner came over all she did was give us excuses on why it happened. Not apologize. One of the reasons for the moldy bread is the the staff is instructed to put old bread under the counter until they take it to a farm to feed chickens. My thoughts were...why is the moldy bread left in the kitchen at all and her staff not know about the bread OLD MOLDLY bread and then serve it to customers. Okay people make mistakes, but that OLD MOLDY bread shouldn’t be left in the kitchen. As far as the sodas and water and iced tea was concerned, it was a problem with their system?? And that became the customers problem. With all the problems and concerns with the drinks and the appetizer, we were concerned with the quality and safety of the rest of the food.
When the check came ONLY the 1 appetizer was taken off the bill. I’m not asking for the entire bill to be comped but something more to show that you care about all your customers. The waitress did get her 20% tip because she showed her concern and she was not the problem. Our waitress was great and that was the only reason I gave a 1-star rating otherwise my experience along with the other 7 people was a zero (0) for the owner and establishment.
I wanted to make the evening special but Petrock’s didn’t allow it....
Read moreI visited on 12/27 with a party of 8 for a birthday celebration. Service was good and this is the only reason for any star at all. We ordered all non-alcoholic drinks. The soda's were flat and all drinks had a strange after taste. We then opted for all bottled drinks (at a higher price). One of our appetizers was on the specials menu. It was an apple and brie on toasted bread. A few of us ate it and then one noticed that a slice of bread was moldy. We then examined the rest and found 4 of the remaining 5 were also moldy. We told the waitress who got the owner She came out promptly..... and gave us excuse after excuse as to what happened! The soda lines went down before Christmas and she couldn't get anyone out until 12/27 in the afternoon, then proceeded to give us a lesson in how flushing well water lines with salt water works, followed by excuses that she was out for a doctors appointment. The excuse for the moldy bread was that she keeps the old bread tucked under a counter in the kitchen to give to her daughter for her farm animals. She has a new lunch chef and"he" must have taken the old, hidden bread and served it (we were in at dinner time so how did new guy get the blame??). I was appalled that she thought this was an acceptable way to respond to a very serious complaint. In the end, she offered us nothing other than the brie appetizer was free. The waitress handled the situation better that the owner, thus why she still got her 20% tip. They did bring one complimentary piece of cheesecake with a candle (I think they would do this for any birthday) which was dry and not very tasty. I would...
Read moreI had a unpleasant experience at Petrocks tonight. My spouse, mother, and I ate in the dining room area for dinner. My mom ordered a cheesesteak sandwich and when she received it, she noticed a strand of hair on the edge of the sandwich. When we called the manager over, she was combative and told us that wasn’t a hair, it was the fat from the meat. My mom, spouse and I all agreed it was a hair but the manager kept insisting it wasn’t. My mom expressed to the manager that she was very irked from it regardless but the manager didn’t seem to care. When the bill arrived, we were surprised that they didn’t take off the sandwich or give her at least 1/2 off or drinks off the bill. The same manager came over and she said “I’m not going to argue with you” but my mom was just talking normal to her and right away the manager went into defensive mode. The manager said we made you another sandwich and then she said that she actually ate the other half of the sandwich (which is not professional to say or do if in fact she did eat it seeing that the restaurant was busy and it was dinner time). The manager said that her employees in the back don’t have dark hair like what was found in my mom’s food. She seemed to have an answer for everything and was unsympathetic to my mom saying that she was grossed out from the hair found in her food. The customer is always right and the manager said that major chains take money off the bill but she can’t do that in fear that her business will lose money. That’s ridiculous bc meanwhile the restaurant is crowded and clearly doing well. That’s fine bc she just lost customers, we won’t...
