We ate at this restaurant for the all you can eat crab legs. This is not our first time eating here. We’ve actually eaten here four or five times and I’ve always been pleased about the food and service. Last night, however was a different story. The food was mediocre. The crab legs came out mostly cold. The butter was definitely cold. The server was good. We ordered a piece of the double chocolate cake they had, to share, and when it came out, I didn’t notice, but somebody sitting across the table, noticed the cake had mold on it, a large piece of mold.
We returned the cake to the server and she Took it back to the kitchen. As one of our party members was walking by. She noticed the owner and the bartender and a runner and another server laughing about the situation. So when we gave them the check we had attempted to discuss that with them and the owner said they weren’t laughing at the situation and that its very serious, etc. We just left we said it’s fine. Whatever we left.
As we’re leaving, the owner follows us outside and apologizes again and proceeds to tell me that he was laughing because even though he feeds his employees when they’re at work, whatever they wanna eat that the dishwasher sometimes eat off the plates when they come back and they said, hopefully he doesn’t try to eat the cake because it was moldy. You can imagine my shock and amazement that the owner of the restaurant was telling us that he has an employee who eats off of other people‘s plates when they send the food back to the kitchen for cleaning or whatever this is Highly unhygienic and unhealthy to anybody in the restaurant, especially if we don’t know that they’re not reserving the food. Like I said before this has always been a good place to eat for us but now we probably will not go back...
Read moreI recommend you take your well-earned money elsewhere. Before ordering, I sat for a while. There were christmas-related items by the bar during summer, and I could see the bartender's silver flats, clearly shoes not meant for work, sitting under the bar top adjacent to me. Then I finally was greeted with a menu (though I had already found my own). The draft beer selection included TWO autumnal varieties in August. A bit early for my taste. I was thankfully able to order a pale ale. My first dish ordered was the lobster salad roll with "cajun" fries. This would only be enjoyed by someone who is happy with flavorless, overcooked lobster slathered with too much mayo and celery. It is served cold on an underwhelming, what I would believe to be store-bought roll. The fries reminded me of my high school cafeteria - the generic frozen variety covered in seasoning that is much too rich in sodium and food coloring. The fries seasoning was all over my lobster roll. The avocado was ridden with brown spots, leading me to believe their ingredients are anything but fresh. I pushed my $13 plate away and waited for someone to notice. After about 5-10 minutes, a bartender off duty and on her way home let me know I could order something new. She was nice, but didn't care to ask what was wrong, just contributed my distaste to a difference in preference. I ordered the grouper wrap, which was miles better in taste and appearance. However, some of the house made chips I ordered alongside where raw. All in all, $20 for a meal that took 75% longer than it should have, and I will never go back. I suggest you save the disappointing experience and never go here, ever. Sub-par service,...
Read moreI have been here twice. First experience: My mother in law was in town and wanted all you can eat crab legs, we went here because this is the only place on the island that have them. They were only $30 (compared to other restaurants with $25 for 1.5lb) and they were delicious! Full of meat and cooked perfectly! (Not the watery cheap kind that are usually all you can eat). My husband got the burger and said it was delicious. Our toddler got a cheese quesodilla, which was made with american cheese, i had never heard of this, and i don't think she liked it very much considering she didn't eat any of it (but she is a toddler). I believe one of the owners came out and conversed with us (very nice bubbly woman) and sweetly interacted with my daughter, she even brought her some fruit, which she loved! Our waitress came off a little cold but she turned around by the end of the night. This was a great experience.
Second experience: My mother in law came back in town with 4 other family members in tow and of course we all wanted to come back here! After hyping it up to our family, we arrive and ask the hostess how long the wait will be (we were expecting a wait, it is the busy tourist season after all) She said (rudely) they wouldn't be able to sit us till 8 (it was 5). There were plenty of open tables and we were even WANTING to sit outside, even though it had just rained. but they couldn't accommodate us. So we went to another restaurant. I was highly disappointed.
I would like to come back here again, but if I were to encounter the same problem I'd...
