The $5 Margaritas for Cinco De Mayo celebration were superb. My wife and a 2nd couple all ordered the House Margarita Special and all had the same response - “these taste great and have plenty of alcohol in them”
My wife and I split a Beef Taco Entree which came with 2 Beef Tacos and rice for $18. The tacos were excellent, the term Beef is misleading as in “they were not your normal ground beef tacos”, they were a much finer cut of Tenderloin or some higher quality cut served with green peppers and onions - delicious.
The entree also came with a small portion of what I thought was supposed to be a yellow rice but was clearly white rice. I was perfectly prepared but with no real flavor.
The bill for the two of us came to $36 plus chsnge. Not bad considering we split a plate but we left still feeling quite hungry. Had we ordered separate entrees we were looking at a Bill of at least $54 plus a little more tax and tip and the two drinks regular price would be $9 each so Mexican Dinner for two is easily going to run you $65.
Again food, drink and service were of very good quality but a little pricey for the amount of food IMO. Don’t think it would have killed them to have a bigger portion of rice or a portion of refried beans included in the Entree.
I’d still give it a try if your a first timer, it’s probably the most authentic Mexican I’ve...
Read moreMy family came for dinner one night while on vacation in Hilton Head. My family sat in a room booth and enjoyed looking at the vibrant decor and listening to the restaurant's upbeat playlist. Papi Tequila is in a network with two other restaurants and when you get a menu, you can order from any of them. We had people eating burgers and fries and milkshakes in the Mexican restaurant. Pretty cool if your family members are all in the mood for different cuisine. I had the chicken quesadilla and it came with this delicious avocado ranch sauce for dipping. They do not offer free chips and salsa like a lot of other Mexican restaurants, but my daughter's cheese quesadilla came with chips and salsa as a side. I tried them and the chips are DELICIOUS. I don't know what seasoning they use, but it is great. My husband and I both got a house margarita and felt them to be well-made and strong! Portion size at this restaurant does run on the small side. Our server was attentive. All in all a good...
Read moreWhen we arrived their was no greeter just a sign that read seat yourself. We sat ourselves and a few minutes later a waiter approached us with menus, no utensils or napkins. He then asked us if we wanted any beverages. We order sodas and he brought them right out and at that time we placed our orders. I ordered a nacho and my wife ordered tacos. About 3 minutes later my nachos came out. Mind you when my nachos came out we still didn't have utensils. So we waited a few more minutes because our waiter was running between the other 2 restaurants that he was serving. We got the chance to ask for utensils and continued to wait on my wife tacos a few more minutes. Tacos vase without sauce or salsa or sour cream nachos also came without salsa. I am use to going to Mexican restaurants where they hive you napkins and utensils and nacho chips and salsa when you sit down and receive your menu. No hard shell tacos. This...
