Awful experience with this company.
My wife and I were called by the hiring manager named Justin. Whom we were under the impression was the boss that made all of the decisions.
When we were contacted about the job, we made sure to ask specific questions. Such as, Could we bring our dogs with us? To which he answered yes, we would be allowed to bring our dogs with us. He said yes, they would be allowed in the hotel they were going to temporarily house us in then move us to their employee housing.
We asked if they were allowed to be in the employee housing. Again we were told yes. At this point we explained that we would be packing up our things and moving out there. We drove 20+ hours from Kansas to South Carolina.
We got to the hotel, got our room. We were on the 3rd floor. We got settled and then met with Justin. At this time we spoke about the job and then we were informed that we'd be meeting with our boss and that Justin wasn't our boss at all.
So we sat down with Aldric. Again, we mentioned our animals and having moved and how happy we were to be there and start our jobs.
A couple of days later we were informed that we had to change rooms and move to the first floor due to the dogs we had. Apparently Justin and Aldric failed to inform the hotel managers that we had our dogs with us. Only the first floor is a pet friendly floor, not the third. Even though we paid the extra $50 pet deposit on top of the original $50, for a total of $100 deposit when we checked in. So all parties knew.
However, when they moved us to the first floor, we got a call from Aldric, our supposed to be boss, who then berated us and yelled at us about the dogs. Told us they are not allowed at the employee housing that the job provides. And how we needed to find them somewhere else to be otherwise they wouldn't employ us.
We got ahold of family in Tennessee and arranged for family to take them in until we could afford our own housing. We called Aldric and told him the plan. He told us it sounded good and had us take the dogs to Tennessee.
Once we got there, he then told us not to come back, that due to the "misunderstanding" they wouldn't be following through with employment for us.
The way the whole situation was handled was very shady and the attitude of the people was awful. We won't be dealing with this company again. And we will be sure to let anyone know who asks us and tell them...
Read moreMy husband and I came to Hilton Head Island after we lost our home and 2 rentals from the water surge from hurricane Helene and Milton was declared a category 5. We drove through the night and ended up at Palmera Inn and Suites. After we arrived, I reached out to a cousin who vacations in HH and she also stays at Palmera for 12 weeks every winter. She knew how broke we are from the loss of our rental income and our home, so she recommended we visit the concierge desk and do the 90 min. tour and we would receive a VIP list of deals and a visa gift card and a free 7 night stay somewhere. So, after breakfast, I went and met Danielle Jacobs at the guest services desk and she was a breath of fresh air!! Danielle Jacobs was so compassionate, and explained the program and how it worked and completely took care of my husband and I during such an emotional and traumatizing time. Danielle truly cares for others and was so empathetic to our situation. I felt like I had a friend in my corner!! Danielle, is an asset to Palmera Inn and Suites and to the Hilton Head Guest Services. You can tell she loves what she does. Thank you Danielle Jacobs for being there for us when we needed you!! I would definitely recommend visiting Danielle Jacobs at the guest services desk and go on the tour of the properties and the time share opportunities. What a...
Read moreStay away from this company. I thought I was booking a free 2-night stay where I just needed to listen to a timeshare pitch. I made it extremely clear over the phone it was just for me, and even though I was technically ineligible under their terms due to being single, one of their office workers still booked me for the presentation under the guise that I'd get my $150 deposit back afterwards. I only found out I was 'Ineligible' at the timeshare presentation check-in desk, and I ended up still being pitched nonetheless. Afterwards, one of their managers called to 'get more information' and mentioned that 'whoever booked my stay would be personally paying for my stay' in an effort to intimidate me further.
The company is now withholding my $150 deposit, and I'm screwed out of getting it back because of a TOU technicality.
This company has shown nothing but utter disregard for potential customers. A legitimate company would take steps to ensure anyone 'Ineligible' is not booked before they show up in person. Additionally, the attempt to intimidate me further afterwards shows an utter lack of class from their manager, and any.
Do yourself a favor and only book timeshare presentations with reputable brands. Hilton Head Guest Services is the furthest thing from a reputable and transparent...
