SUMO — Restaurant in Hinesville

I typically don't judge a restaurant by appearance alone but this time I should have. Dirty windows, tacky walls, torn up booth seats, flies hovering in the air. Took a risk and ate there. Sushi was a joke. The eel was old and dry, crab meat was artificial and tasted like it was saved from a mayonnaise jar, the spicy tuna roll was most likely a type of fancy feast that had been pressed into a log and left to dry in the sun. Prices are cheap and for good reason. The teriyaki chicken and the chicken bowl had very dry chicken chunks. Flavor wasn't bad, just so dry. Noodles were like stringy grease. Flies made it hard to enjoy what little food was edible. Staff mostly sat out front in guest seating. Had a frat feel with people walking off the streets coming in and to the back of counter or people waving from the windows to their pals in the back. Overall dirty, gross, not...

13 July 2024 1115am Beware unsanitary workers! I walk in to pick up my sushi order and as I am waiting the guy making the sushi has his gloves on while making sushi rolls and is digging in his pockets and pulls out his ear buds touches his hair and his ear and ear bud and then digs in his back pockets and grabs his phone and starts getting on it and sets his nasty phone on the counter where he is making the sushi!!! ALL WITH GLOVES ON AND MAKING SOMEONE SUSHI ROLL!! this is DISCUSTING, I told the lady taking my payment and she WATCHED HIM DO IT and she said “we tell him all the time but he does it anyways, but I assure you he changed his gloves when he made yours!” I said “you need to say something more and again or I will that’s nasty!” I asked for management and she said they not there and told me...

The Asian guy who works the register is very rude. In fact, he's one of the rudest Asians I've ever encountered.

Upon entering the restaurant, he immediately asked me "hi what you want?" In broken English. I said, "Let me first look at your menu.

I proced to place my order asking a few questions regarding the items offered on their menu, and he said to me, "Can't you read?" in broken English! I ordered my food, paid, and he had the nerve to ask me for a tip!

While waiting for my order, I couldn't help but realize that all the employees are mexican, and as a mexican myself, it brought great joy, but I can only assume that this guy who works the register probably gives them a toxic work environment.
