First time at Tosca, reserved easily on open table. My boyfriend and I were going to celebrate my birthday. Reservation was for 7pm and we were sat promptly toward the left of the restaurant and it was LOUD! Difficult to get around all the people milling around the bar back there. Our server was nice and attentive and answered the couple of questions we had about the pasta dishes. We ended up ordering one of their specials, the Caprese salad as an appetizer and were very disappointed. It was like one hunkin half of a tomato in the middle of the plate with a couple of other random wedges and some cherry tomatoes, TONS of grated parm but barely any fresh mozzarella, just a few shreds. Pesto sauce was good and pistachios were a nice touch but overall was not impressed. I got the extruded bucatini, it was good but need some spice or even black pepper to cut the creamy, saltiness off it. Just felt like something was missing? The pasta itself was cooked to perfection and the prosciutto was yummy, just very rich and creamy. My boyfriend got the boar bolognese, which he loved. Both dishes had huge portions. We finished with the campfire (smores) chocolate mousse, that was super yummy. We loved the marshmallow whipped cream and graham crackers. I also ordered a cappuccino which took a while to make but was very delicious. By the time we were finishing up, it looked like they were setting up for live music, right in front of our table like not more than 5 feet! Our biggest turnoff was honestly how loud and obnoxious the guests were at the bar, especially for what we thought was considered an upscale restaurant for 7pm. Don't recommend coming here if you want to have an intimate dinner, hard to hear. Service was good and food...
Read moreFirst I have to give credit to Tosca for all my past experience. It has always been a great place with a great atmosphere and food and that's the reason why someone would come back. This time, Sunday Valentine's Day was very different and the last time I went to Tosca. The hostess took us to the function room, which is completely separated from the restaurant down the hallway passing the restrooms area and simply seated us there w/o even asking if it would be ok. The room was nothing like Tosca restaurant. We came for the experience and atmosphere especially in this weird times is nice to see other people at other tables talking to each other and laughing. We saw this only for few seconds until we got seated in that separated room, total maybe 6-7 tables. function room at Tosca is not even decorated, white empty walls, not even any pictures on the walls, cold temperature, bright day light lighting and loud broken speakers blasting music. Food was ok as usual, however during the dinner I was impolitely interrupted twice by the kid who came to pickup the dishes with "You done?" while food was still on my plate. So with this experience I am done with this place that took a chance to to make extra $$$ and lose a customer who came to support them. I come to Tosca for dinner and across the street for branch for years however this was not acceptable. Your business is only great as your...
Read moreWe've been to Tosca many times, and one thing that always stands out is the staff. The service is consistently outstanding, warm, professional, and never rushed. You get the sense that they understand you're there for a special occasion, and they let the experience unfold naturally. The food is excellent, truly top-tier, but somehow it becomes secondary to the overall experience.
This last visit, however, made us lifetime customers. My wife wasn’t feeling well just before dinner, so we had to leave shortly after ordering drinks and a pizza appetizer. We have an 18 month old and a 6 month old. It was our first time out since the baby was born. I explained this to our server Cheryl. I felt badly for abandoning the table. Cheryl was outrageously gracious and understanding. I tried to pay her, but she insisted we didn’t need to. She showed so much empathy and kindness, refusing to charge us even for the drinks. And sent me home with the pizza in case my wife got hungry later. Cheryl is the kind of person who restores your faith in others. I find that’s a theme at Tosca. Her gesture, small to her and huge to us, is the kind of thing that makes Tosca, and Cheryl….unforgettable. Thank you Cheryl for making a tough night have a...
