Stay Away!! Took my pretty large bird of paradise plant to get repotted into a bigger pot. I bought it 18 months back from a different store and since it had grown bigger and better, it was time for a bigger pot. First 2 times I went there, the shop was closed during business hours with no sign outside. Next time I went, I met Susan there who was wonderful and very helpful. My plant was in perfect condition and she actually complemented it. They were to deliver it back in 2 days. They delivered it back to me with a broken branch which was tied with a ribbon they put on. I understand sometimes this happens while handling, no big deal, so I let it go. 7-8 days later, 10-15 yellow mushrooms pop up in the soil all over. I try calling the location and no one answers the phone. I tried calling at least 5 times over the week to no avail. The following weekend I walk over there and see Edwin there, and told him about the issue. He said he remembers delivering my plant and will ask the owner to call me back before Tuesday. No call for 10 days after that. At this point, I am so frustrated just trying to reach a person who can help rectify the mess they created. Google quickly told me that the mushrooms in indoor plants is due to contaminated soil being used to pot. I had the plant 18 months, no problem, suddenly repotted with new soil and mushrooms pop up. Clearly tells me that contaminated soil was used. I sent an email looking at their email address on their website and no one responded for another week. Finally I call back one day and William (the owner) pick up! I was happy to finally get him on phone! He tells me that the mushrooms are because of the older soil and not the new soil he put and denies completely that the branch was broken on delivery. Then he goes on to tell me why I am telling him this after 3 weeks. Well it took me over 2 weeks to get in touch with anybody in your store. He finally says that because he is all about 'customer service' he will charge me $37 to come fix the issue that he created! So first we pay to get the plant repotted, they put contaminated soil and break a branch and then ask for money to come fix it. Please stay away from this scam of a shop and spend your money and time elsewhere. Fortunately, this was a small job and I learnt my lesson with this. I am about to buy a few more plants, but will be going to 14th street garden center in jersey city who give me far superior service. William & staff were extremely friendly, detailed oriented, organized & you truly can feel the love in their work! The flowers were some of the freshest flowers I have ever seen, everyone at the party loved them & raved about how good of an idea this was to have! The flower bar was the perfect touch! My mom’s party was 10 days ago and the flowers are still alive and sitting perfectly on my dining table, that speaks volume! I can’t forget about the attendants at the party that were extremely attentive, caring and made everything seamless! I didn’t have to worry about a thing, not a detail was missed! Read more*Another edit (4/29) - 1 month later and still no partial refund as promised by the owner. I am starting to think he doesn’t plan to send the refund which is very disappointing. I am not used to business owners sayin one thing and not keeping their word.
Very shady business practices - I left a 1 star review last month because they sent my friend the wrong note with her flowers causing her to think she was getting an Easter gift (she doesn't celebrate Easter) instead of her new baby flower gift. The owner reached out and asked me to please change my review to 5 stars in return for a refund. I said sure so I changed my review.
He then said I actually do not feel a full refund is fair and offered half - I said sure, I understand they are a small business. Never sent the refund and blamed it on their 3rd party vendor.
I followed up and still nothing. It's been a few weeks now and no partial refund was returned.
