This bakery is known for its weekend cinnamon rolls and those buns sold out very quickly. My experience this morning is a good testimony for the second half of the sentence.
I arrived at the store on a sunny Sunday morning at 8:25 am - after a 45 mins brisk walk from exchange place... People's tolerance for line must be unusually high after some rainy days. By the time arrived, there were about 40-50 people in line. The line moved extremely slowly. From time to time people walked out carrying cinnamon rolls (they smell really tempting to be honest). After almost exactly an hour - at 9:25 am - I finally got near the counter and shockingly, based on interactions with previous customers, the cinnamon rolls were all gone! Per receptionist they sold out about 5 mins ago and they claimed they have notified people waiting in the line about that fact - but at least I personally didn't hear any announcements of the sort. They do have an interesting drink menus but other pastries not extremely standard and are not store made (I can probably identify which manufacturer is their muffin / croissant supplier), so I ended up didn't buy anything. Better avoid sunk cost fallacy.
Bottomline - ended up having a great, much longer than usual morning exercise; can't really review their food or drinks because I didn't buy anything. For those non cinnamon rolls standard stuff, probably easier to just order online - and maybe get pastries elsewhere. :)
Reply to the comment: Since I have to give a rating to post review, what would be an appropriate rating for something I didn’t...
Read moreDecided to wake up early on a Saturday to meet my friend at The Hive as we heard their cinnamon buns are amazing!
Lines start forming outside at 7:30am and they open at 8am. Since it was snowing outside not many people showed up which was a plus for us. We waited around 20+ minutes on line inside and was enjoying our cinnamon buns by 8:30am.
The inside is super cute, inviting colors. Pastels, pinks, whites. There is a play area where you can bring the kiddos and a stroller area outside. Super convenient! There are chairs and tables inside and outside. They also sell candles, snacks and merch.
I ordered the lucky charms matcha along with four cinnamon buns (four is the limit per person). I also grabbed a lucky charms rice crispy. My friend ordered the chocolate covered strawberry latte which seemed like a customer favorite! My total was $48 which is crazyyyyyy for four cinnamon buns, a matcha and a rice crispy but hey... I'm here for a good time :)
The matcha with the lucky charms was good but I wish I tasted more of the lucky charms. The cinnamon buns were gooey, warm and delicious! My bf said they're better than Cinnabon haha!
All in all, it was a morning well spent especially since I found parking right on the block.
FYI - cinnamon buns are only sold on Saturdays & Sundays and usually sell out by...
Read moreLINE TIP: if you’re in line by 730am and/or your place in line is outside of 1024 Park Ave, you’re more than likely NOT getting any of the original cinnamon rolls, but you might get some of the blueberry ones.
Was in line by 730am (outside 1024 Park was my position). By 810am, a worker that was taking pre orders outside (clipboard, walking down the line to take peoples orders) told everyone they had sold out of the original cinnamon rolls but had about two dozen left of the blueberry ones. At this time, there were about five people in front of me still.
Not exactly sure when the original was sold out so best bet is to get there earlier by 7am.
Decided not to keep waiting because the worker that was taking orders was giving people little paper slips and saying that once you pay, you can come back - so the assumption is that there’s a further wait for the cinnamon rolls to be made.
I had one of their lattes before (something with coco), it was okay. There’s a play area inside the store for kids; $7 to access so good for parents looking for a...
