i had been waiting weeks to try this place and i was so excited to finally make the trip all the way to Hoboken JUST for this. unfortunately, i was left disappointed and underwhelmed and honestly, annoyed.
price: the concept is very cool. you pick the bar you want ($6.49/bar as of July 28th, 2024) and then you have the option to either dip it in chocolate/cookie butter/etc ($1.25 for each different dip you get on the bar) and/or top it with toppings like sprinkles/pistacios/almonds/etc ($1.25 for each topping you get on the bar).
safe to say it’s not cheap. but frankly, for the concept, i was fine with $6.49/bar plus some for toppings. but this was just extra. the lady helping us told us we can do half and half dip but what she didn’t tell us was that it would cost $1.25 for each HALF OF THE DIP. how does that make any sense?? you charge me $1.25 for one dip so im assuming its bc you covered the bar fully. but then you are applying the same amount of dip on the other bar but charge more bc its different dips??? ridiculous. i would’ve declined if she just said that its gonna cost extra for each dip. $2.50 is insane for just just dipping a bar in chocolate. then the toppings are extra too.
service: she seemed really nice when we walked in. but her attitude changed as we were looking at the different flavors and dips and toppings. she was getting inpatient and i could feel her just staring at us to just order and leave. we were just so excited at all the options and couldn’t decide in the first 3 minutes (sorry). we are indecisive when we have so many options and well the price is pretty steep so we wanted to pick good flavors that make this whole trip worth it. her tone of voice started sounding more pushy and face just looked annoyed. dude it wasn’t that long and there was no one else waiting. please calm down - it made me so anxious to just order and leave. plus, i didn’t like that she suggested “you can do half and half” but conveniently didn’t mention that even though you get amount of 1 dip, you pay for 2 dips.
ice cream: presentation is amazing. flavor not that great or special for me personally. i actually didn’t like one bar at all bc it did not have a taste to it bc i think the topping smothered the flavor of the bar. but others in my party did like one of two bars a little more than i did. overall, it was underwhelming. basic at best. it looks so good but just doesn’t live up to that presentation. i wish that i just got the bar plain so maybe i would’ve tasted it more or tried the sorbet/fruit style one instead.
location: cute little store with indoor and outdoor seating. very aesthetic and the process or dipping and topping is cool!
overall, i wouldn’t return here ever again. i was very annoyed at the lady bc she made me anxious. i would’ve gone back if the ice cream was good but i wasn’t blown away by it. i did enjoy seeing the final product bc it looks cool and i am thankful that i did experience it once. but unfortunately, i would not recommend and would not go...
Read moreI recently visited this charming ice cream shop, and it was an absolute delight! The cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a sweet treat. Their paletas are amazing – each one is packed with flavor, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. One of the things you should try when you visit the shop is their hot chocolate; it’s rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious – perfect for a chilly day!
The highlight of my visit, though, was the outstanding staff. Lydia, in particular, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. Her recommendations made the experience even better!
If you’re looking for a spot with incredible paletas , a warm ambiance, and top-notch service, this is it. Can’t...
Read moreTheir ice cream looked delicious, but I unfortunately didn’t get to try anything because I have a nut allergy and they were not accommodating to this. Typically an establishment will offer to pull unused items from the back that were untouched to ensure there wouldn’t be any cross contamination. They also weren’t aware of what had nuts/what didn’t, and it caused a hold up on the line because they had to pull out these giant books that had the allergy information in it. This one lady kept on recommending items that had nuts, even after I said I had a nut allergy. Big red flag. I understand this place has nuts and they can’t guarantee no cross contamination, but they should have a separate nut-free zone so those with allergies can enjoy their...
