Beavers Bend Restaurant — Restaurant in Hochatown

Came to this place based on reviews. First the food was less than average. Fries, okra and tator tots lacked seasoning. Hush puppies were the best thing they had. Secondly, the ladies that worked on 12/19/23 were not nice. At least not to our family. We came in and all the tables were a mess. I waited patiently and then a young girl yells out from the back that we seat ourselves. All available Tables are all dirty but for some reason I thought well we can get out of the entry way and just stand by a dirty table. Another lady (wearing heavy eyeliner) says they'll get tables cleaned and separated shortly with an attitude. I tell her we have a big group so she didn’t have to trouble herself. She tells me where she is going to set me and I’m like ok. When she cleans it, all she says is “table for 12”. She ends up being our server. She still never greets us nor gives her name. She comes up to us just says are yall ready or do y’all need more time? I try to give the benefit of doubt and assume she got overwhelmed from maybe a lunch rush prior to us. She forgets some of the drink order and never apologized. Another lady (short with short dark brown hair, maybe the owner?) brings our drinks and never apologizes or smiles. I see our waitress over at another table smiling and being friendly. Then I see her serve another happily. After our food comes out, we get Checked on once. We go up to pay our ticket and she’s still the same. The other half of our group comes up to pay and she simply holds out her hand to signal “ready to take your money”. Never says a word. Never smiles. We aren’t royals but we simply came in to eat and just would have enjoyed our meal with friendly service. I should have taken my family somewhere else so our kids wouldn’t have seen how she treated us compared to everyone else. I’m a nurse and I can’t imagine discriminating against my patients because of their race. ...

The waitress with dark brown hair with highlights wearing a ripped white shirt on April 2nd for the morning shift was absolutely the worst waitressed I've ever encountered. My husband and I came down for our honeymoon and decided to eat here for our last meal while in town, which we should have just eat somewhere else. When we came in our waitresses was already unfriendly, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and just brushed it off. We waited longer than half a hour to get our food, she never once checked on us or even let us know that its taking a little longer on our food. Once we got out food she just dropped it and asked with an attitude if we needed anything else then dropped our ticket on the table. As I was about to eat my chicken salad, I noticed my eggs were bad and there was something black and slimy on my salad. My husband got her attention and told her there was an issue with my food. All she had to say was "oh ill let him know", assuming she was talking about the cook. She never once even apologized for the issues or even acted liked she cared. I told her I didnt want to eat anything from here because of the issues. My husband only ate one of his catfish strips and decided to leave because how our waitress acted towards us and her unpleasant service. As we get up to the register our waitresses was still being unpleasant with us rushed us out and had an attitude with my husband once again. To be honest, I don't know why I'm even giving it a 2 Star review other than the gratefulness that we didn't die from eating here. When we came in, there were 5 tables being waited on. We are foodies, and we travel A LOT.

We had two ladies trying to wait our table, and didn't know either of their names because they didn't introduce themselves. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our food, and was not visited once by a server during this time. Once we got our food, I asked one of the ladies with no name if I could get ice in my luke warm water, which happened to have come out with maybe 5 small cubes of ice and she looked at me like I was crazy.

Let it suffice to say that the food was very tasteless. Our fries (which did not come with the burger) came out room temperature and undercooked. Our burgers were very dry and had little seasoning if any. I ordered a patty melt and one half had three onion pieces and the other like twenty. Nobody asked us how we liked our food, as very little of it was eaten, or we would have expressed this in person. But, so that others may benefit, this is our experience. I am sure we will get snarky feedback from the establishment on here as I see them doing on other reviews instead of apologizing and trying to make it right, but I'm okay with that.
