If you are Hispanic or brown skin, stay away from this racist place.
My wife and I came into town for the weekend. We came to this establishment as we heard good reviews about their food
As we walked in, the host Tanner, walked us through several open tables downstairs, took us upstairs walk-through several tables that were vacant and sat my wife and I in the very end corner right next to the trash cans. Let me point out that my wife happens to be white, blonde hair, blue eyes, and I am Hispanic.
We asked not to sit at that table, he stated he had to clean one, which wasn’t true but I said ok we can wait. So he sat us on the table next to that one.
After we got our menus, we decided that we did not want to eat there as we were already feeling uncomfortable
Our waitress by the name of Monica, who was extremely polite and nice, asked us not to leave and she said she would take care of us
She did an amazing job taking care of us. We got our food we ate. We finished eating at that time. I went downstairs to grab some cash out out of the ATM to give her a tip in cash because I did not want her to share that with the host.
Well, we’re getting ready to pay. We noticed that Tanner the host brings a white couple and sit at a table right by the stairs, and right after, he brings another family which happens to be Hispanic and brings them all the way to the corner to the same place where he wanted to see us in the first place and he sits that Hispanic family in the corner right next to the trash cans. At this time, we didn’t know whether it was coincidence or this was being done deliberately.
On my way back up from the atm, I stopped at the host stand where Tanner the host and another hostess we’re standing, at which point are very politely approached him, and I pointed out to Tanner that he made us feel extremely uncomfortable by the fact that he sat us all the way to the corner right next to the trashcan away from all the other people, and we just felt very uncomfortable by that situation and I wanted him to know and understand how that made us feel so he wouldn’t do the same thing to other customers.
Our goal was to pay our bill. Use the restroom and leave so as we’re walking out down the stairs, I see the manager, talking to Tanner the host they both look at us and they start laughing. They happen to be standing in the same hallway where the restrooms were located at.
As we’re approaching the restroom, I asked him if he was a manager and asked for his name and he said he was the manager his name was Corby.
At this one, I start recording with my phone as I’m describing my complaint to him to which he respond to me that I was harassing his employees telling me that I cannot use the restroom at which point he puts his hands in front of him and pushes me telling me to leave his establishment that we’re not allowed to use the restroom. I asked for his manager and he said that there was none that he was the person at Randy establishment and continued to tell us to leave the establishment at which point I told him no we need to use the restroom we spent money we ate here and we have to use the restroom. And I told him you put your hands on me, which is not acceptable. He did then threatened to call the police at which I said go right ahead. Please call the police and ask he pulling his phone out. He looks over to the side and she’s someone by the name of Scott.
He called Scott over whom immediately asked what can I do to make this right? He took us into his private office, we explained everything that happened and he was so apologetic he tried to pay for our meal, but I told him that we had already paid for and that was not the intent, but I was not happy with the fact that he’s employee insulted us, lied to us and physically assaulted us
Scott was very apologetic and stated that such behavior wasn’t acceptable. I told him to review his cameras.
We ended up filing assault charges with the sheriff against the manager earlier today and hope that justice is done. Discrimination should not be...
Read moreI’ll start this review with the positives. The food was great. The top sirloin was very tender, our sides were fantastic and the prime dip was great. We visited the saloon for my husband’s birthday to see Creed Fisher perform. The show was awesome and the atmosphere was fun. Unfortunately, none of this was enough to salvage Hochatown Saloon for us. We paid a good amount of money for VIP Meet and Greet, AND VIP seating($90-100). We arrived to learn that our seating had not been reserved and no one really seemed to know what to do about it. After over 30 minutes, we still had not been told where we could sit or eat. When we asked for the second time, the staff member acted annoyed and said they’d get someone else. A few minutes later, they brought out a paper with my husband’s name on it and placed it on the furthest table area from the stage. And there were no chairs. They told us they were trying to find chairs for us. We stood for 20 more minutes without any news. We asked a waitress, finally, who again seemed annoyed and went to ask someone else. The woman who came out after that told us they did not have any more chairs for us. She proceeded to give us a rickety rocking chair and a tall barstool to sit at our low-height table. They continuously told us they’d bring out more chairs when they could. In the meantime, the woman helping us told us she was not a real hostess so she could only bring our food to us in to-go boxes and she could not serve alcohol. Everyone else in our VIP area had a waiter/waitress, real plates, and alcohol. Later, I witnessed her open a tab and serve white claws to the merch seller. I ate standing up, as my barstool was obviously too tall for the table. The entire time, the staff was very hot and cold. Sometimes they would be kind, other times they treated us like a complete burden or annoyance. We received 2 very quiet apologies from the “not-hostess”employee early in the night, but after that she seemed burdened to help us. A bit later in the night, we witnessed VIP customers bring out 3-4 chairs for their bigger party. We asked The “not-hostess” why they were able to find chairs for other customers, but not for us. She nonchalantly said “oh, did they?” before saying she would bring chairs, again. She brought out the bill and just stared at us. We asked where our chairs were, once again, and she went inside to get them. They brought out 3 chairs, when we very obviously only needed two. The man who brought the third chair (no idea who he was and hadn’t seen him prior to this) had significant attitude when placing it next to us. After all of this, my main complaint is that we were not treated respectfully, and we were not offered any sincere apology or understanding. We were also not offered any compensation whatsoever for our second-class treatment, when we paid $90+ for the VIP experience, alone. Not to mention our large order and tip. I’ve never experienced such poor service, unfortunately. Had it not been for the food, this would be a 1...
Read moreWent last night and was super disappointed on our experience. When we arrived we were given a buzzer with an expected hour wait, no biggie, and it was going off within 30ish minutes. While we waited there was seating at the bar upstairs so we had a few drinks while we waited and the blonde bartender (I didn’t catch her name) was great!! We were sat and all ordered more drinks and put in our app and food at the same time to just make it easier and quicker bc they were busy! Well we got the apps in which the fried pickles were just not good. Burnt grease and just poorly made. A hour goes by and the young waitress (I also didn’t catch her name 🤦🏻♀️) let us know none of our orders that were a fried food could be made bc “they had burnt their grease” which makes sense due to the pickle situation. Anyways annoying bc why did it take an entire hour to let us know?! So the ones who did ordered other stuff after we made sure so like the stuff that was ordered that isn’t fried is being cooked right? Reassured and just said it’ll be fine we were all drinking and having a good time for a friends birthday. That’s why we are here from Louisiana is for a 35th birthday celebration.. anyways after another whole hour of still waiting a friend went downstairs to try and speak to manager bc now we’ve been sitting there for 2 hours and all we’ve gotten is salads and some burnt pickles lol. Well that didn’t solve anything bc after standing downstairs for a while waiting on a manager to come back to her after “going to find out what’s going on” she said screw it and came back upstairs. The 8 of us paid for the drinks and ended up leaving bc we were all hungry but extremely disappointed bc we got there at 730 with the plans to eat then stay for when it turns into a bar/club but left at 930 hungry. I’ve been to this place a few times and it was always great which was why it was my recommendation but this time was just bad. I get things happen in the service industry, as I and all of my friends have been or are in service but for it to be this bad plus a manager not at the least give us some kind of...
