5-Star Review for K&K Café
I had heard great things about K&K Café, but it was my first time visiting, and I must say, it was well worth the wait! When I arrived, the lot was packed, every table was full, as was the counter. I was informed that there was only one cook and two waitresses on duty, so the wait time would be about an hour. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I decided to stay, and I’m so glad I did.
The wait ended up being only around 35-40 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. Throughout that time, the waitress (who I believe was the owner) stopped by several times to check in, ask if I needed anything, and even offered to refresh my drinks. I really appreciated the personal attention—it's clear they care about their customers here.
When the food arrived, it wasn’t anything fancy, but it was exactly what I was craving: good, home-cooked comfort food, just like grandma would make. My eggs were cooked exactly how I requested, which is always a win in my book. I even noticed the cook coming out a couple of times to make sure customers’ special orders were correct, which shows real dedication to getting it right.
At the end of the meal, the owner came by to apologize for the wait and graciously comped the drinks. I thought that was a really nice gesture and spoke volumes about how much they care about the experience they provide.
The prices are slightly higher than average, but honestly, the service, the personal attention, and the quality of the food made it totally worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending K&K Café to others who appreciate good, home-cooked meals and a place that truly values...
Read moreWe wanted to give this a go because we use to see them at debs, and was hoping for a similar experience. The place was busy/not busy but given it was just two of them running the tables it was going to take awhile. Took some time to get our drinks and refills. I ordered their smash burgers and the person with me ordered the country fried steak.
For $11.50 I was expecting larger burgers, but they were the size of white castle maybe a little bigger, didn't have much cheese and onions on it. I had to send it back because it was lacking toppings, they tried to fix it and brought it back out and it was still lacking toppings. At that point I just gave up trying to get it right. The person with me got their steak and it was still pink instead and the breading was soggy. The waitress explained to us the reason it was pink was because of it being a steak. Which isn't the case. The reason is because it wasn't cooked long enough, and the oil doesn't appear to be at the right temperature.
I wanted to really like this place and was hoping for an experience that was similar to debs, but this was just a bad experience. Between their prices and what you get it is not worth it. I ended up having to go to another restaurant afterwards and spend more money because the little amount of food that was offered. They need to go back to serving the 1/3 lbs burgers they had before. Charging $11.50 for the equivalent of a slider burger is...
Read moreWarm atmosphere with new age decor that is relaxing and cozy. Friendly greeting at the door from the two owners makes you feel welcome and they are happy to take care of you. Food is awesome and priced appropriately for the area, but the quality is fantastic. Had the Eggs Bennie and it was perfect. Just needs a sound system and they will be set. Excited for this new...
