We stopped here hoping to get information about the Petrified Forest. While we did get the information we needed, I have never felt so unwelcome in a visitor center. We obviously were disturbing this gentleman's morning by asking questions. There is supposedly a museum in this building, but we did not know this until after we left. The restrooms were locked and we had to ask for keys to use them. The jail was in the same hallway and was interesting to see but we felt like we shouldn't be there. There were other people outside when we left but they must not have known what was in there either. They just took a photo of the building and...

The old courthouse has been turned into a museum, the rooms filled with history of Holbrook and surrounding physical terrain. We were taken back in time with vignettes of Native American history, pioneer and cowboy history, railroad and local business history. There were room that told stories of local people from Holbrook's past. We loved it! Bring some cash to donate because they deserve a few bucks for all the care and attention to detail that's been put into the building to make give it an excellent flow through time. After leaving the museum, we drove along the railyard frontage and Route 66, in town, to compare to what we had see...

The items they have here are so cool, I dont want to upload images because that would spoil the surprise... but i will say that the museum is in the old city hall and accepts donations with free admission. great for vacationing on a budget. Going through the doors of this place is like travelling back in time. Even if youre just passing through the area, i would encourage you to stop here if you have a chance even if only for an hour or so. Theres a huge amount of stuff in there and a lot of it is very well preserved and visually impressive to look at. Theres also some surprising and funny...

The old courthouse turned museum is a must see! The old jail is so chilling emotionally it made me feel goose bumps. It's very dark and heavy in there. It instantly makes you think of how depressing and uncomfortable jail was for an inmate. It was creepy but an interesting piece of Holbrook history that has been maintained for us to experience today. Once you walk out of there you walk through the rest of the courthouse and you can't help but admire the height of the ceilings and doors. There are all sorts of history that is worth seeing!

A surprisingly diverse little museum, this Holbrook attraction is truly a small gem in the high desert. There's a wide variety of exhibits, well-presented, and the building itself is lovely. Be sure to make a donation to help them preserve this worthwhile museum. It's a bit old and world-weary but that just adds to the charm. Allow about an hour to see everything.

Such a cool place to visit with kids and friends. I was blown away by the size of the building and all the historical value and history that is present in every corner. From a post office to a courthouse, and even a jail. Such a cool place and the staff benders are super friendly and attentive. They answer your questions and yell your fun stories
