We stopped here hoping to get information about the Petrified Forest. While we did get the information we needed, I have never felt so unwelcome in a visitor center. We obviously were disturbing this gentleman's morning by asking questions. There is supposedly a museum in this building, but we did not know this until after we left. The restrooms were locked and we had to ask for keys to use them. The jail was in the same hallway and was interesting to see but we felt like we shouldn't be there. Read moreThe old courthouse has been turned into a museum, the rooms filled with history of Holbrook and surrounding physical terrain. We were taken back in time with vignettes of Native American history, pioneer and cowboy history, railroad and local business history. There were room that told stories of local people from Holbrook's past. We loved it! Bring some cash to donate because they deserve a few bucks for all the care and attention to detail that's been put into the building to make give it an excellent flow through time. Read moreThe items they have here are so cool, I dont want to upload images because that would spoil the surprise... but i will say that the museum is in the old city hall and accepts donations with free admission. great for vacationing on a budget. Going through the doors of this place is like travelling back in time. Even if youre just passing through the area, i would encourage you to stop here if you have a chance even if only for an hour or so.
