Breakfast after fasting bloodwork. No one to greet me but a barely visible sign saying to seat myself. I sat alone for quite a while before somewhat rudely asked if alone and if I wanted coffee by waitress in late 60’s with long blonde hair. Clean table a plus. Coffee hastily brought in carafe and pile of cream/sugar packets literally dumped on my table like I was interrupting her day. Food was basic and edible but expensive for what I got (waffle, 3 sausage links coffee $16). Coffee was weird, it was weak and had fruity undertones. I witnessed another guest walk in and greeted by rudely saying “what do you want?”!! This waitress needs to work on her people skills. Read moreSouthside Inn is an excellent example of a diner in the most classic sense. It has an excellent choice of breakfast items and lunch items and is closed for dinner. It opens at 6 a.m. and closes by 2 so you better be ready to eat a perfect breakfast or an excellent lunch and then forget about dinner; eat that at home with your family. It has wonderful food, and attentive wait staff, and a beautiful location just off of South Washington on 35th Street.
