Golden House — Restaurant in Holly Springs

Over the last couple of months I have ordered from this place 3-4 times because I believe sometimes people just have a bad day. However, as of today.. I will no longer be ordering from them.

The inaccuracy in what you get delivered versus what you paid for.

Each order has been wrong. I really like the noodles, and I always order the noodles. However, every order from this place has rice.. It's not that I hate rice, but I only order this kind of food for the noodles. I've checked the accuracy of what I have always "known" on google and at several other buffets.. the general idea being.. Chow Mein, is noodles..Lo mein is little bitty thin noodles, and Rice is well.. rice.. So my order was for Chicken Chow Mein, expecting noodles.. and when it arrived with rice I was frustrated, but I was willing to admit maybe it was my mistake. I spoke with the manager, requested the noodles, which I admit, they did fix.. hours later when the food was already gone they showed up at my door with noodles and informed me that even though every other place like this calls chow mein noodles.. they do not and in the the future to order the lo mein which in their case, and only there case.. is noodles. But I try not to be unreasonable and I let that go... ordering the lo mein to get the noodles and everybody should be happy right? No. Because the next time I ordered they went to the wrong address, and then the wrong door.. and after almost 2 hours when i got my food.. there was rice. again. So I called, spoke with the manager.. again.. was informed that the cook wasn't "used" to serving that meal with noodles so they didn't double check the information. Assumed it was inaccurate and sent me what they thought I wanted.. Ok, fine.. So the cooks having a bad day.. I let it go, ate the rice and enjoyed the food honestly. I'm not saying the quality is terrible. The quality is fine. Not great but not terrible.. It's good. And then today.. I ordered again, Mandarin Lo Mein dinner plate and the Sweet Corn chicken soup. I received the soup and the Mandarain mixed meats.. along with this box of rice.. Nothing else.. The menu says dinner plates come with crab ragoon, and egg rolls. I called, spoke with the manager again, who tried to blame it on the cook, who then tried to blame it on the delivery girl... who was quite nice btw considering it took her an hour to deliver my food and I only offered a 3 dollar tip. They would somebody out with crab ragoon and an egg roll as soon as they slowed down.. Which is nice, but Im not going to sit around all day waiting for it either. I asked them to credit the account for whatever the cost would be for those items, as well as the "lo mein" which I didn't get, because I got rice. I argued with them for about 10 mins, decided I was done giving them chances and disconnected the call. Yes, I was upset.. Not disrespectful, I didn't cuss or threaten anybody.. I simply said, OK and disconnected. So my biggest complaint at this point is the fact that she, the manager, turned around and called me back.. to explain to me that because of my original complaint, which was their fault, and the fact that she had placed the new order to fix their mistake, that I would be required to pay another $20 when the new order arrived.. I refused, of course..and requested that she not call my number again. Which by law is fair and she should not have the first time.. My number is there if you have a question about my order, my address, how to get to my house, or where to go when you get there.. not for them to randomly call, violating my privacy, expecting money for a job they couldnt do right the first 3 times and wanting me to pay them to fix it.

If your looking for quality, respectful customer service, accuracy in your order or even slightly warm food.. Your better off going anywhere else.. Your local soup kitchen could do a better job without the insane prices this...

Let me just apologize before I start to all those who love this place and its food. My wife and I went there for dinner. She ordered Honey Chicken and I ordered chicken chow mein .. Mine came out first and I could not get past the stench of the food to take a bite. It turned my stomach and I love Asian food. The egg roll was terrible - got down 2 bites before I had to quit. The fried rice was the only thing I could eat and I’m not sure what if any meat was in it but I was starving and got down about half of it. My wife took a whif of my food just to make sure it wasn’t me and she chocked up also. Her honey chicken came out and the pieces were more breading than chicken and also had a pungent odor to it she couldn’t eat any of her meal either. The chicken in both plates looked old and shriveled up and was rubbery. I hate writing a bad review here. I know this place has been here a long time and lots of people keep coming back but tonight it was terrible for us. The food was not even worthy of one star. As a fan of Chinese food and a man that spent my whole 20s traveling the country for work I’ve tried 100s of Chinese restaurants. This is a hidden gym. I’m the manager at shine n go and the holly springs P.D. put me on this place. I’m calling it top 5 across the country from my experiences. We have our new home with good Chinese food. Also the customer service is 10/10. Naveed sent me here and it’s the only place shine n go car wash will go to for Chinese food going forward. The bar has been set high so good luck to all the other locations trying to be as good as Golden House. Also don’t go to vape 5 next door if you smoke vapes. Jimmy- the owner is a tool and taxes heavily. Go anywhere else for a vape. I was in there one day and watched and listened to him be a complete……., and I can’t say the word, but terrible customer service to those next door in China house. the owners of this amazing Chinese spot next to him. The woman cooking was asking him for help and he called her a very racist word I won’t say. Stay away from Ole 5 vape and Golden house is the best Chinese food in GA. Truly a hidden...
