When you first walk in everything is beautifully laid out and everything looks Devine! However, once we were inside it was very hard to get service and the staffs attitude was poor. The guy helping us seemed annoyed with the couple of simple questions I had and simply ignored the compliment I gave. We ordered several different cake slices, cheesecake bars, peris brest, and a sticky bun. CAKES: The cakes all had a very very mild flavor. The oreo had 2 layers of chocolate cake and a vanilla in between. The chocolate cake was hardly chocolate tasting at all but the texture was nice. The chocolate cake in the oreo cake honestly tasted like a box cake mix but even those have more chocolate flavor...The buttercream they have is excellent. The lemon cake, same thing. It was almost like the cake was a simple vanilla and the buttcream that went along with it had a beautiful texture but you could hardly taste any lemon. The peanut butter cake was very dry and almost stale. But the buttercream was well flavored with a reeses flavor and had nice texture to it. We just ended up scraping the frosting off to use with pretzels later. CHEESECAKE: The oreo and chocolate Cheesecake were some of the best cheesecakes we have ever had! Very dense but creamy and well blended flavors throughout the Cheesecake bars. Very rich NY style with lovely crusts. We will definitely keep coming for those! PERIS BREST: The peris brest was just not good. First off, it should not be called a peris brest it is more of a giant filled cream puff. Every part of it was bad to me. The pâte à choux dough seems overworked because it was very very tough. The pastry cream inside was too thick and dense. The sliced strawberries were on their last leg and hardly ok to serve. The Whipped cream was over Whipped and had a lumpy and gross texture with no sweetness to it. We just threw it out after failing to find some type of redeeming quality about it. STICKY BUN Oh my goodness! I highly recommend buying like 12 of these because they are phenomenal! They have used what I believe to be a puff pastry type dough and was beautifully glazed and sticky. The chew factor on the sticky sweet outside was just what I was craving and will be getting more in the future!
Bottom line some things are done extremely well while other treats are lacking. To summarize, if you are looking for an intense flavor in your cake, this isn't the place. But if frosting is your thing then you're in the right place. Everything is beautifully decorated and delicious to the eyes but just simply lacks flavor...
Read moreI was told that their pizza was amazing here.... So, i took it upon my self to purchase two 18" Pizzas for my family and guest. There was about 10 of us. One pizza was cheese and the other one was half pepperoni and pineapple. it was about 35$ for both pizzas. i normally WOULD NEVER spend this much on two pizzas but i figured it was Alpine bakery so why not everyone said it'd be great. The pizza was absolutely terrible. All my guest and family asked me what was wrong with the pizza. The dough seemed old. i couldnt even cut it with a knife for my one year old to eat. Both pizzas ended up in the dumpster. :( I normally wouldnt right a review like this... but im physically sickened by how much i paid and for the quality of pizza i got. No one could finish their pizza , i had to order food from zaxbys for everyone because everyone was still hungry. Its sad to say i wouldve settled for pizza from papajohns, dominos or else where. I also ordered a peppermint mocha while i waited for my online order. It didnt even taste like peppermint mocha, it tasted like some kind of pumpkin spice??? By the time i got half way through it it just tasted like blended plain iced coffee. Very odd. There's a starbucks down the road if you want a Frappe. My email told me my order for my pizzas wouldve been ready by 4:32pm. At about 4:47 pm i was kinda concerned no one told me my pizza was ready even though a gentleman that worked there knew i had placed the order, i had to go up to the counter to ask if my order was ready, and they had forgotten about it because i saw when they opened the door to the back they were just sitting there. So word to the wise... stick with only ordering cake from there. Dont waste youre money. The money i spent on the pizza and peppermint mocha went down the drain. I have never been so disappointed. I dont mind spending extra money for good quality food. But when i do and i get poor quality on everything it really annoys me..... I hate to write a review like this... But i do not want this to happen to...
Read moreI wish I had a better experience but for what I paid for the little I got, everything should be perfect. I purchased lemon drop cookies and amaretto cookies. Before I left the lot I ate a cold, stale lemon cookie. Next was the amaretto, I literally spit it out in my hand. Stale,it tastes like freezer burn. I went back in,the quality control girl was there. She took one from the display and chewed for awhile but couldn't taste what I did,she then took from my hand my bitten one. She said the other was sweeter and mine may have been a bit stale, it's either stale or fresh. I bit the other in my box and gagged. The cookies are obviously frozen and were stale. She said sometimes they come from the restaurant, made no sense. Canoli,I am a expert, the shells were soft. Done, one eaten, the rest in the trash. She offered a slice of cake on the house which was very kind. I got the German chocolate. Big slice but for almost 10 bucks it should have been half a cake,it was served for dessert to friends after dinner. So moist it could not be cut, hense the large store cut and tasted like a plate of sugar Not eaten, cheesecake truffles we did not even bother eating after this. The only good I could say was though not browned enough the sfogliatelle were spot on. Being an Italian from NY, I know what this food is supposed to taste like and have purchased multiple times here. Public Canoli are the same quality with crunchy shells. The coffee was good The main reason for the review was they left the cookies for sale. The cookies were bad,she knew it,they were awful,I never have spit food out of my mouth. They are clearly not baked fresh and that should be noted. 15 bucks a pound for stale cookies and 10 bucks for bad Canoli, sorry, too expensive not to be fresh. They got $25 of my...
