For years I've heard about Juici vs. Tastee patties in Jamaica....When I heard that Juici Patties was opening in the US in several locations in South Florida I was immediately intrigued and had to try them. I consider myself a patty connoisseur...I know a good patty....a golden hot flaky yummy mess...proper filling ratio...texture of filling and the right amount of spice/pepper...the size..... My favorite patty spot in South Florida is Taste Rite.
Juici Patties located in Hollywood, FL had been open for 2 weeks and the google reviews stated how good their coco bread was so I was looking forward to that...I saw that they had patties with avocado, cheese, beef, curry chicken but nothing for pescatarians nor vegetarians. Natural juices like mango and hibiscus.
My first attempt, I was in a line of about 30 people.... I made it to the counter near closing time and they stated that it would be another 20 minutes for spicy patties so I said no thanks. Will try another time.
I attempted again a week or two later around 10:30am (I was strategizing) and I was behind about 50 people this time. Lawwdddd not again but this time they opened at 10am and I was early. I thought about leaving twice but I remained patient. Super cute, cozy and modern on the inside. Great customer service and average prices with combo deals.
Fast forward, I ordered spicy beef patty w/ coco bread, spicy beef patty with cheese and a spicy curry chicken. Yes folks I need a kick with spice. Welp, I was told that they were OUT OF COCO BREAD! Excuse me? Why at 11:30am? I was told that they sold out the previous night...and the truck should be coming soon...Ummm so it's not prepared here?....Anyway I was annoyed b/c it's the weekend...For Saturday morning you should be prepared and have everything on the menu. Did I mention that most of the menu said SOLD OUT??? Oh and she said the spicy curry chicken will take another 20 minutes. Sighh...
I need these establishments to start preparing ahead of time....when there are about 20 patties left, start baking the next batch especially when you see 100+ people in LINE! Get with it! On to my review...
Spicy Beef Patty - Golden crust ...the filling was mushy, slightly wet (aka "Juici" name) which is probably why the dough wasn't as flaky as I'm used to...It was slightly flaky but not the hot flaky mess that I was expecting and used to...the dough had a good flavor. The filling was tasty however it was NOT spicy at all. No kick. 80% of filling. I give it a B.
Spicy Beef Patty with Cheese - Now this combo was surprisingly nice! My favorite out of all three. The cheese just gives it that extra umph. The crust texture again was slightly flaky and not spicy at all. 75% of filling. I rate it B+
Spicy Curry Chicken Patty - Big fat fail. It was a flat patty (see second photo)....smooth mushy baby food texture. 50% filling. Where was the chicken? Hardly tasted the curry. I rate it a D. Try again.
Overall, it was a nice experience. I wanted to try their popular coco bread, expected spicy patties, flakier crusts and less wet filling, more filling, etc. Would I stay in a long line again? No but I would stop by if I wasn't near my other patty spot. Would love to try their coco bread, patty with avocado and natural juices.Give it a try! Next openings are in Pembroke Pines and Fort...
Read moreIf you’re ever in Hollywood, Florida, Juici Patties is an absolute must-visit — not just for the mouthwatering Jamaican patties, but for the warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly sets this place apart. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with kindness, hospitality, and a level of cleanliness that immediately stood out. Every corner of the restaurant, from the front counter to the back of the house, was impeccably maintained — a true testament to the pride and professionalism behind the scenes.
Our group included students with special needs, and Juici Patties graciously welcomed them with open arms. They didn’t just serve us food — they opened their kitchen and hearts. The students were given a special tour of the back of the house, where they got an up-close look at the inner workings of a culinary and hospitality operation. They even got to bake their own patties! What an amazing experience for them! The kitchen was meticulous, reflecting the same care and attention seen in every bite of their delicious patties.
And speaking of the patties — wow! Flaky, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. Each bite was a taste of authentic Jamaican comfort, and our students couldn’t get enough. What made the experience even more special was the generosity of the founder, Rhea, who donated patties to our summer camp. Her kindness and support left a lasting impression on all of us, especially the students, who were thrilled to enjoy such a thoughtful gift.
Juici Patties isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a community gem, a place where culinary excellence meets heart and hospitality. Thank you, Juici Patties, for making our visit so meaningful. Hollywood is lucky...

Walking into Juici Patties at the Hollywood location, I had high expectations. However, my anticipation quickly turned into disappointment due to an unfortunate incident involving a worker and a customer.
The worker in question was a young, slender Jamaican male whose disrespectful behavior towards a customer was immediately off-putting. While another gentleman seemed to be having a calm discussion with one of the ladies behind the counter, the worker behind the counter became confrontational, making aggressive comments rather than addressing the issue in a professional manner. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a customer-facing role.
Despite calls for a manager, there was no response. Instead, another employee emerged from the back of the bakery/kitchen, showing little concern for the escalating situation. The customer, understandably frustrated, walked out while the worker continued shouting threatening words.
To make matters worse, they informed me that there were no beef patties available because the truck had not arrived. This added to the overall disappointment of my visit.
Based on this experience, I will not be returning to this Juici Patties location and cannot recommend it to others. Respectful treatment of patrons is essential, and it seems this establishment needs to seriously address how they manage customer interactions. Businesses should always remember that any customer might have significant influence, and every patron deserves respect and...
