Updated review: sad to say after today ..being a loyal customer for 7 years, we no longer will be going here. Seems like you can't complain when you're not provided the items you paid extra for..The last 3 times weve ordered they did same thing and we didnt say anything..but today, we decided to complain about how we ask for 2 extra eggs ( total of 4 eggs) on our breakfast meals and they didn't add them. my breakfast is usually 2 eggs and my husband gets 4 eggs..when we opened it in front of the 2 main waitresses which i think are owners daughters who work there..got upset because we were checking our food..and then we complained how the 2 egg breakfast looked exactly the same as the 4 eggs..and they started getting all defensive and rude and clearly didn't understand why we were complaining..the waitresses kept talking over us saying how things have gotten expensive etc..when clearly thats not what we were complaining about! I dont care paying $30 per beakfast but as long im getting what i pay for! the problem was that they didn't give us what we asked for after paying extra for it!! they were so rude and unprofessional...the one main woman was just arguing and being defensive. They clearly didnt care of how unhappy we were and disappointed. 1st rule of thumb is that As a customer you're always right and if you value your long time customer you just apologize and correct the situation..simple as that! Thats what an owner does to make their customer happy! but instead they ended up telling us that if we weren't happy then we can go elsewhere since they have plenty of good customers to go around. When she said that to us, that got us so upset...especially being 7 year customer that never complained. Now I see how they treat long time customers..Clearly these people don't know what it is to admit they were wrong and instead they chose to tell us we can go elsewhere . It's a shame because the food is great and we didnt mind traveling out of the way to go there since we live in Pembroke Pines...I see how they are all about the money now and don't care about their loyal customers. With that said well never go back..and clearly I'm not the only one they have been nasty too and have unpleasant attitudes..other reviews as well with...
Read moreHere we go! LOCATION: if you are going south on 441 aka state road 7, the entry is easy. However, if you are going north on 441. You have to make a U-turn because there is no entry. PARKING: there is parking on the sides and in the back. The area is so small, so it's not really a walk if you park in the back. LOOKS: I have lived here for over a decade and it wasn't until a year ago that we started coming here. It's not the most attractive building. The inside isnt attractive either. It looks like a beat up Cuban shop from Hialeah. However, it gets busy for a reason so dont let the looks deceive you. SEATING: you can sit anywhere, if you have a wheelchair, it will be a bit tight and they might have to move people and tables to get you through (sorry 😭). Its a small restaurant. Also, I really wish they would play music. I hate hearing other people's conversations as I wait for my food. I feel like music or louder music would help set the mood. PRICES: remember how I said it's like a Cuban shop? It's got Cuban shop prices. Pretty low and daily specials. I went to eat with my dad today and here is what we ordered: Dad-beef stew, plantains, white rice, black beans, and a Sprite. Me- breaded chicken, white rice, tostones, black beans, and a water. They bring buttered bread for every table before the entree. We paid $20.30. FOOD:The food is always made to order. It's so fresh. it is greasy food and I dont believe seeing vegan or vegetarian plates unless you order a-la-cart items. SERVICE: it's always been great. Most of the servers are Cuban women who multitask several tables and run around making sure everyone is served. They work hard. It's not the type of place where they smile so often or get into a some sort of acting roll. They simply to their best and dont be offended if they dont smile. This is how it is. They dont hate their job and they just want to cater to you. I'm big on smiling and being upbeat but some cultures and environments are the exception. The service is good and they will light up when you give them words of appreciation. OVERALL: it's a nice place to get together to have some Cuban food for a great price and fast service. That is my experience and...
Read moreI was recommended to this place about 3 years ago and go at least once a week with my boyfriend, who's been going there fore more than 10 years! After today's awful experience, I will never return. My boyfriend ordered a NY steak medium, and it was brought back RAW! We asked the waitress to just bring us a well done steak. The chopped up steak that showed all the raw areas was taken back to the kitchen, put on the grill, and returned BURNT. We explained that we'd like a new, well done steak, given that the first one was RAW and we werent going to consume something like that, which then was simply just thrown onto the grill. The waitress said the chef wasn't going to do that so she'd just remove the plate from the bill. She comes back to get the plate and throws away the food. I asked her for a menu, so my boyfriend can order something else and she refused to bring one and said "all the food is the same, and he's not going to like anything. He (referring to my boyfriend) always gets breakfast not steak." Clearly, she recognized us and knows that we go there often and did not want to help. We've gone there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have never had an issue. He could've simply gotten a sandwich or a side or anything, but the fact that she didn't want to bring a menu is beyond me. On top of all that, to downplay the situation of receiving RAW MEAT in front of your customers is extremely unprofessional (she said "you shouldn't be scared to eat the meat, that's how it's done, trust the chef"). She said her name was Angelica, if so, the owners need to teach her (and another of it's waitresses) manners. A soft voice and pretending to know customer service isn't going to take you far. We will never return to this...
