Welcoming staff. Shannon was very kind, patient and friendly. Made the experience comfortable and easygoing while staying professional and helpful. Other staff looked equally attentive and helpful. Efficient. Enjoyable interaction with customers that went beyond the impersonal and merely functional whenever prompted.
The food was traditional, homey, satisfying, tasty. Big portions. Nice variety of classic Colombian dishes, with options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as desserts. Good coffee.
Latin dance music (bachata, salsa, etc) played in the background loud enough to bring out the mindless automated wiggly swaying moves in you if this is your type of vibe, to create the happy latin mood. Not loud enough to prevent you from having a normal conversation with people next to you or the waiting staff. No need to shout, but definitely not a zen space in this regard, and it felt to me like the volume might have gotten louder the closer to dinner time it got (I had a late mid-afternoon lunch, so was there during the transition between lunch and dinner).
Beware the strobe lights when night comes, which turned on at sundown to add to the latin party vibe.
Quirks: there are buttons on all tables to summon staff, so, no need to shout, whistle, make big wavy gestures, or attempt awkward piercing stares in hopes to use the force to make the staff notice you and establish communication.

Read moreCame in because my usual spot for bandeja closed early. As disappointing as THAT was, I'm so glad I found this gem 💎 hidden on Johnson Street. Came in and was greeted by the host. Took us to the table and was then assisted by our server Dylan. We knew exactly what we wanted so we put that order in. I told Dylan this was our first time here and he went above and beyond with excellent service.
We ordered the Bandeja Paisa with Colombiana champagne soda. We received our food in great time and was blown away by the amount of food on the platter. More than my usual Bandeja spot would serve me. The bandeja includes the Choriso sausage, as it should with avocado as expected along with the usual items..The food was cooked to perfection, delicious and with Dylan's excellent service, we couldn't be happier. This is our NEW Bandeja Paisa spot!
Had to edit this review to add our excellent service received from Lady as we came in again for another delicious Bandeja Paisa! Thank you Lady! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Read moreThis location used to look kind of new with not a lot to offer last time I was here years ago. Now that I'm back in town to visit with family, my dad decided to try this place again and I figured why not. The place has definitely changed for the better. I am not sure if it is under new management, but the atmosphere has improved, the interior is pleasant and the service is great.
Dayerlin was our server tonight and she was polite, courteous, and took our order with care. The meals were great and were also decently priced, especially with the portion sizes given. We were told that meat dishes would take about 30 minutes and seafood dishes would take about 40 minutes which made us change our orders a bit, but the food was delivered way faster than 30m so that was a plus. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely give this place a try.
They also have another location that they informed us that's basically the same but with extra amenities like a bar and full kitchen and it's a much larger location. Definitely check them out if you got time. I would go but I don't live in the area. Maybe next time when I'm visiting again.
Thank you for a...
