First and foremost, pictures can tell a thousand stories. My first picture and my last picture should tell you all you need to know. Second... My husband and I were at Denny's in Holyoke waiting like usual... He said find some where else to eat. Pretty sure the old age argument of "what do you want to eat" "where should we go to eat" is not an isolated argument between us. Couples all over the world have this argument everyday. 😋 Welp, on to the review. I googled "breakfast places near me" and came across a picture of eggs, waffles and bacon. Big ole plate. Mrs. Mitchell's. So, off we went. As soon as we got there, we were seated. And soon after that our waitress Leah (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) seated us and took our drink orders. Oj for the hubby and coffee for me. On to the main course, 3 minutes and Leah was back taking our orders. You can see in the pictures what we ordered. Home-made. Made to order food. Eggs were perfect, Bacon perfect, sausages prefect, waffles prefect, French toast prefect. My husband has a bottomless pit for a stomach but, he was very satisfied and full. I never finish my breakfast but, I cleaned my plate with the perfectly toasted toast. The food was off the hook! The service was impecable. When you make food and you put your heart and soul into it, people can tell. Our food was made as if the cook was cooking for his family. And our waitress Leah was very nice, very attentive, she made sure that our cups were full, that my coffee cup was filled and that we were satisfied. We will definitely be back here because this is our new spot. I just can't believe that we have never known about this place before today. so thank you Denny's for screwing up like usual and making us wait for your mediocre food. Otherwise we would have never even found this place. ❤️❤️❤️ And honestly to anybody else who gave Mrs. Mitchell's a bad review, I'm not sure if you were in the same place as we were or if you're just stuck up. My suggestion would be...well, let me keep that to myself, as it may not be appropriate. You obviously don't appreciate good, home cooked food. Because this place is flipping...
Read moreout of 1 through 5 I would give their food A 3. It was not bad but it also wasn't impressive. Their food was average in every way, they are your typical diner. The service I would also give a 3 out of 5. They weren't rude to me but it was just average service. They did get our order right so that was good. Cleanliness I would give them a 2 out of 5. There was food on the floor. I also saw pieces of the mop Tangled around the chairs from when they've mop the floor.something that can be easily picked up. And one of the worst things about the cleanliness would be the menus. My menu had multiple stains on it and it was all crumpled up and I felt like I needed to wash my hands after touching it.nothing really to say about the atmosphere. I would give the atmosphere of the place at three out of five. It was just your average diner atmosphere. I was recommended this restaurant by a person I know who's from Ireland who told me this restaurant has Irish breakfasts. When I was in Ireland I have multiple breakfast is in Ireland. like I said my food was not bad but it did not hit the mark of tasting like an authentic Irish breakfast. So from 1 to 5 I give them a 2.75. I'm not a local of this town and I probably won't go back but if you are a local it's just your...
Read moreI was jealous of each meal my co-eaters got-- salty, sultry corn beef hash; a sweet veggie omelette; crispy homefries! I got a homemade muffin-- grilled and buttered-- and everyone wanted a bite. Our waitress made sure we always had hot coffee, and when she came to collect the bill, she shared with me that while I was falling into "second sleep" she was up making the muffins! Don't be fooled by the liquor store next door-- this place is family friendly. All the Irish heritage items looked fantastic-- though I still don't know just what black and white pudding is. You'd think this spot would be cash only, but they accept card. The cafeteria style flooring, the plastic table covers and Coca-Cola sponsored fridges and signage will give you a tinge of the bittersweet Irish style nostalgia. There's an "Ole Irish Prayer" on the wall-- may your heart be light! The only thing that wasn't 10/10-- I wish the coffee were a wee bit stronger! They plan lovely music, too-- Madonna, John Mayer, Journey. If I'm passing through Holyoke, I'll be sure to...
