Pizza Mia — Restaurant in Homer Glen

First, let me state that the food tastes great. Their sausage pizza is fantastic. They cook it like a proper Chicago pizza, and the cheese comes out looking like the colors of fall. Slightly crispy, slightly chewy and thin.

Their broasted (deep pressure fried) chicken is amazing. Golden fried, always very moist and usually generous sized pieces. The broasted potato wedges are giant slices of potato, battered and deep pressure fried. If you love fried potato, you're going to adore them. They are what a potato wedge should be, not these dinky little thick french fries people often call potato wedges. These feel like actual wedges of a complete potato.

Their prices, although they've increased with inflation, are still much more fair than similar options, both local and chain for chicken, potato wedges and pizza.

My biggest issue is that they've decreased their hours over and over. They're now open from only 4pm-8pm daily, which is crazy for a pizza place. I frequently want to order some chicken or a pizza, but it's before 4:00pm or after 7:30pm so I can't.

I hope they figure out a way to stay open later so I can give...

Edit: The service is going downhill quickly, and it pains me to say this. As I mentioned below, it is often very tough to get through to them via the phone. Today, after getting a busy signal for quite a while, we went there to place our order only to find out they decided to only serve pizza & salad instead of their entire menu. That screwed up our plans royally (if we had known that on the phone, it would have been easier, but alas, that's no longer possible, it seems). So, we nixed the Pizza Mia plan and went elsewhere. First time we've ever said no to Pizza Mia, but...it's getting tough to deal with them. SADLY! Love Pizza Mia in general. Kills me. Hope they fix their issues.

My ONLY complaint is that it's often exceptionally difficult to get through when calling Pizza Mia -- the call routinely results in a phone-service operator message (not a business-created message). We usually give up after 15 - 20 minutes. Usually, we just end up going there and put on our order in-person; but that tells you how good it is that we still do that.

Still, I wish they would improve their phone system because it's a little...

Pizza Mia has become my favorite pizza place by far! Everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. Especially the original Chub. I made the mistake of ordering the skinny chub and it's not the same. Order the original Chub with the Au jus! It is absolutely delicious!!!!! Nothing you have ever tried before.

But tonight since it was New Year's Eve of 2022, I decided to order a large pizza, play some family game night and wait for the ball to drop for countdown.

I ordered half pepperoni, sausage and mushroom per my 9 years old's request and the other half I just told her veggies which was spinach, tomato, onion and green pepper. Sooooo delicious! Price was reasonable and super yummy...
