Caveat Coffee — Restaurant in Homewood

Love this place. So quiet and calming. Like a library, people are very chilled. The coffee is really good. And they offer a great selection of different lattes. I’ve heard the Rosemary Brown Sugar/vanilla is amazing. They offer these amazing iced cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins. Ask them to heat for you. Pairs beautifully with a caramel latte. Awesome interior atmosphere in the heart of Homewood, near Edgewood and The Battery. You could walk around, they also have a drive thru. It’s sort of awkward to navigate if you come up a one-way. You’ll have to make your way around the block to access it on the one-way street that leads to the coffee shop. Staff kind/ helpful. A little pricey, but worth it. Go and you’ll enjoy, meet a friend. They also have a porch during seasonal times of year.

I was so excited to try a new coffee shop but unfortunately this time I was disappointed. There's no parking an I had to walk a good distance to get here. It was packed full so I was disappointed go find out I walked all that way to grab my coffee and go because there was no where to sit on a Friday morning at 10am. They only have three syrup flavors; chocolate, vanilla and simple syrup. They don't have almond milk and substituted for macadamia milk which I was fine with. However, I ordered an iced macchiato with chocolate and macadamia milk and got a $7 cup that equates to 10 sip of hot espresso. When it's 96° and I'm walking several blocks back to my car the iced coffee I ordered would have been a much better option. I took one sip of my coffee to see the quality of the coffee and it was a tad bitter. I set it in my cup holder and walked two more blocks to my regular...

I recently visited Caveat Coffee and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the matcha I ordered was quite good.

However, my experience with the staff left much to be desired. When I asked for suggestions, the staff responded with a noticeably nasty attitude. Their tone was dismissive, and they seemed irritated by my questions. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in a customer service setting and made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.

It's clear that there is a need for better training in customer service at this establishment. The quality of the matcha would bring me back, but the unprofessional and rude behavior of the staff is a significant drawback.
