I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yummy Bowl with my fiancée, who has frequently praised this restaurant as one of her favorites. Eager to experience it for myself, I decided to join her for a date night, and I must say, it lived up to the expectations.
Atmosphere and Service
Upon entering Yummy Bowl, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was vibrant yet cozy, making it an ideal setting for a casual date. One aspect that stood out was the cleanliness of the establishment; the bathrooms were well-maintained and accessible, which is always a plus in any dining experience. Additionally, our food arrived promptly after ordering, demonstrating efficient service that contributed positively to our overall experience.
Food Selection and Taste
For my meal, I opted for two ginger salads, an order of veggie rolls, deep-fried potstickers, and chicken fried rice. My fiancée chose items from the grill menu.
Ginger Salads: The ginger salads were refreshing and flavorful. The dressing had just the right amount of zing without overpowering the fresh vegetables. It was a delightful start to our meal. Veggie Rolls: The veggie rolls were another highlight; they were crispy on the outside with a generous filling of fresh vegetables. Served with a tangy dipping sauce, they made for an excellent appetizer. Deep-Fried Potstickers: These potstickers were perfectly cookedâcrispy on one side while remaining tender on the other. They were filled with a savory mixture that complemented their crispy exterior beautifully. Chicken Fried Rice: The chicken fried rice was hearty and satisfying. It featured well-cooked rice mixed with tender pieces of chicken and assorted vegetables, all seasoned perfectly.
My fiancée's grilled selections also received high marks from her; she enjoyed every bite and appreciated the quality of ingredients used in her dishes.
Overall Experience
Both my fiancée and I left Yummy Bowl feeling satisfied and happy with our choices. The combination of quick service, delicious food, and a clean environment makes this restaurant a place we will definitely return to in the future.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place that offers tasty Asian-inspired dishes in a pleasant setting, Yummy Bowl is highly...
Read moreIâve only ever eaten here one other time maybe a few years ago. Nothing terrible then, but no real reason to come back either. Food reminiscent of a mall food court. But I just attempted to eat here again, and didnât even bother ordering. I was with my 8 year old son and wanted a place that was accessible, but would also expand his pallet. So yummy bowl it was. Upon entering, I was greeted with a dead-faced blank stare and silence. Almost as if to say in a sarcastic way, âgreat, a customer.â There were no other customers, and I couldnât remember the decorum from my previous meal here. So I mentioned to the hostess that itâs been a while and that I wasnât sure what to do. She grabbed a couple of menus and begrudgingly uttered, âfollow me.â There are many booths in this restaurant. But there was only one booth occupied. We followed her to the booth that was backed up against the only occupied booth in the restaurant. Something seemed a bit off, but at this point, I had chalked it up to being in an unfamiliar place. Then we met our server. They approached with caution and didnât bother introducing themselves, again just standing there looking annoyed. The menu was confusing so I asked for clarification. I wasnât sure if an item was available for dinner, or if the lunch hours were just posted on the menu for information. So I asked if the item was for lunch only. They replied, âsir, itâs 5 oâclock.â And then, I knew what time it was. I have a few rules in life. One is to avoid giving people money who treat you like youâre stupid. But especially avoid giving people money for food that treat you like youâre stupid. And even more so when the food is overpriced to begin with. Especially when thereâs an excellent option (Okinawa) just steps away. If someone is taking your money and treating you poorly, how do you think theyâre treating the food that youâre about to ingest. So, when they let me know what time it was, I knew it was...

Yummy Bowl. Create Your Own Bowl.
Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is huge, with plenty of seating throughout. This is maybe my 100th time coming to this restaurant. I am not too big of a fan of hibachi type cuisine, but Yummy Bowl is not just one of the best hibachi, but one of the best restaurants in this city. If you pass by during lunch or dinner time, you would see how packed it is. For this night, it was packed, and the line was long.
I have tried the sushi before and it is good sushi. They also have some good appetizers. Nothing too crazy, but good, well reasoned with the price.
The real star of the show is the build your own bowl concept. You are given a little metal bowl and you are free to fill it with what you like. From beef to chicken to shrimp to all types of vegetables, you are in control. Especially with the seasonings and multiple sauce options. You can come here multiple times and change what you add in your bowl and it will be amazing, fresh, and different tasting but in the best way possible. Choose what kind of carb you would like with your protein, from rice to noodles to lo mein and even brown rice. The bowl comes and it is quite a lot of food, with the red bowl being so full you are out of breathe just looking at it.
Yummy bowl is one the best restaurants in Birmingham, and it shows every night. It is almost packed whenever we come in and even with the rush, the hard working chefs seem to grill and cook away with pride and kindness when they thank you once you give them your bowl to cook. For the price, and the taste, it...
