I would like to address my complaint towards management or (assistant manager Samantha). I am an employee of an insurance company and I went in Planet Fitness with my badge and was told that I could use the gym free of charge because I was an employee of this particular insurance company. I was so excited that was awesome! So I proceeded to use the gym for four days then was told on the fifth day that I could not use the gym any more because they had a meeting and it ended on 9/30/18. Well I was puzzled because on this particular day it was 10/2/18 and I just used the gym for free on 10/1/18. I was told that they don’t have an agreement with this particular insurance company. I then proceeded to ask why the sudden change? Samantha stumbled over her words saying that it was only for the hurricane victims that were employees. Which that was a lie because no one from the hurricane works at my office. I then proceeded to ask how can I join? Samantha had the ordasity to say I don’t recommend you joining at this location because you don’t live here. I was taken back I never heard of any business turning down a new customer especially a gym. I firmly stated how can you deny me a membership, because I live in a city where there are Planet Fittnesses on every corner. She tells me, “well it would be hard to cancel the membership because you have to cancel at the office that you signed up with”. I was really getting angry at this point because she was lieing to my face. At this point another associate by the name of Dria came up to the counter and suggested that I could get a black card and that would allow me to go to any location. Dria was very informative and signed me up for a membership. I appreciate her kindness because the assistant manager Samantha does not know what she’s talking about and she’s not friendly and very rude. I heard others complaining about her. If I wasn’t dedicated to working out I would have not joined this location. I have visited other Planet Fitnesses and the associates were very exceptional. Now since this ordeal has occurred Samantha the assistant manager don’t even acknowledge me or speak to me when I enter she just sticks out the scanner and scan my gym fob. Read moreToday was a horrible day at plant fitness. My son joined over months ago he took me a lot to reach my personal goals. I'm that process I decided I would join so that my husband and I can workout together. I joined over a week ago today was my husband first day coming to workout with me. I wanted to buy something to drink for us both and come to find out something was wrong with my account they said I would need to sign documents i had already sign and they said my card was not on file along with bring them my routing and account number. I stood there like omg I was ask did you pay for your fees well why yes. Confused as I could be and embarrassed after being my husband to there thinking I had handle all the things that needed to be handle. The manager was very rude and disrespectful he had an terrible attitude. We had did I have a problem. I told him why yes I do but things was getting a little out of hand so my husband ask him to just get things straight and leave all the other stuff alone. The young lady tried to explain and she was very nice about it. If you see something wrong your job is to get things fix so it don't put the customer In a bad situation. The manager was not professional and it is unacceptable in my book. If u knew that planet fitness had no respect for there customer's I would not have never joined.
Also if a couple get a membership with the gym they will only get one. They will not get to black card memberships in the same household. They both should be able to use the massage table. My husband is paying for the membership but can't use the table because it's in my name. I don't understand this why? It does not make sense. This is so sad . When people bring friends to the gym that is a form of advertising why wouldn't they be able to use the massage equipment? That will make the choice for them to join. Read moreI decided to try this planet fitness despite the reviews. I went in and two workers were on their phone with their heads down and the third was having a conversation with a young lady who didn’t appear to be asking a business related question. When I approached to ask about the day pass the young man told me I needed to download the app. So I did and I went outside to get my ID bc that’s what it said I needed. So when I went back in he said you can just scan it no one said anything about a tour or if I had been here before, no need for an ID bc all of that info is inaccurate no need to mention a tour on the app bc your staff doesn’t offer one. I’m sure I could have asked but after seeing them I didn’t want to. So I walked around and I wanted to get on the elliptical machines so I went over to try and use one nothing happened went to another one to make sure I wasn’t crazy. I went to get a worker and she went with me as if she didn’t know none of them were working. So a whole section of them not working. I’ve been to other gyms and just have never experienced this. No the fees are not as high as other gyms but I just ended up leaving bc you have workers who are not working they are there to play on the phone and get a pay check.
