McDonald's — Restaurant in Honolulu

As a follow up to my post below, the store manager Shane read my corporate complaint and reached out to me the VERY next day. He was concerned about the safety of my family and asked if everyone was ok. He asked me to share my concerns and experience with him. After I shared with him he asked if i was ok because he realized what an ordeal it must have been for me. He also offered to refund my bill in full. Today, he met with me and gave me the refund but aslo sat and talked with me about how things could have been handled differently. He also said he will use this experience and the security video as a teaching lesson for his staff; he asked me to give that store location another chance but he understood if I choose not to do so. He has handled this situation so beautifully that I am considering trying that location again, after a few months, to see if things really have changed.

I called to complain that I found maggots in 4 of the drink trays they gave me and the manager VENUS said, "OK? And? Did you take a picture? Do you have proof of purchase?" Then hung up on me because I was angry about her attitude. I went to the store to complian and SHOW her my picture (posted above) and after identifying herself, she went to he back and made me wait at the counter for over 1 hour! She would not come out and told the crew members to tell me she was calling her boss to approve a full refund. That was a lie, she was calling security. She called security/police on me. SHE REFUSED TO TAKE MY COMPLAINT, said her boss would not give me a refund, only a replacement for the drinks, and asked thepolice to have me leave. This is beyond unacceptable. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS...

This McDonald's is a pretty good place for just a one floor restaurant but I have to say when I walked in it was so busy with only one cashier and 2 girls getting the orders and filling them. I've usually always gone through their drive through most of the last 29 years on a weekly basis bcuz my awesome dog loves their ice cream cone 🐕‍🦺😉.. But tonight I just wanted to get a snack with my dog and I have to tell you there must have been at least 12 people in line in front of me and almost left but within 5 or 6 minutes the one girl at the register was ready to take my order and white getting my phone to tap pay they were already calling my number that my food and drinks were ready . Unbelievable and Unbelievable fastest I've ever seen in any McDonald's in Hawaii with 1 cashier and 2 people getting the orders out as fast as they did and yes my food was hot and not all messy I thought it would be. And on a Friday dinner time. Amazing 5* if not more. I will recommend them to everyone and all these years going through the drive through I don't think I've had a problem with any of my orders. I can forget the gentleman who was cleaning tables as he walks past asking if I needed anything else and if I did don't hesitate to call him and then he wishes me to have an awesome night. The SODA!! Omg for the past days I swear we go to this particular one because it's near our home, but the soda is warm,watery, and like no carbonation and 3 days on a row I forget dont say anything about it no sign to let me know to not order the soda (coke) I love McDonald's coke it's always strong and fizzy. When you have to drive farther to a farther McDonald's just because of gross warm soda that's not well on the 5th day( I have 2 growing boys) I I finally am off of state/federal aid programs and find it cheaper (not healthier) to eat out with our busy schedules, rather then buy 3-4 different types of MEALS from the store, 3-4 different PLATES is cheaper for my ohana. But idthink it'll stay this way long, bcuz of the pandemic services take longer then usual. But a note would've been nice, the 2nd 3rd and 4th time I would've went to a different one like the 5th time we went to this one, we drove right back out to the next.......for us next closest one is kamehameha plaza I believe its called off of...
