Siam Paradise — Restaurant in Honolulu

My new favorite thai restaurant on Oahu. Everything I've tried so far has been great. The Papaya Salad was very crisp, with a nice refreshing acidity. The Chicken Cashew was incredible. That is possibly my favorite dish I've tried so far. The smell of it cooking, and waiting for it to come to my table was torture. But it was worth the wait; it was amazing! The Pad Thai was great too. It was nicely balanced, not too sweet, not too sour, not too spicy (for me). The Panang curry was different than what my sheltered western tongue was used to from the other thai restaurants here. It was incredibly aromatic and wildly flavorful. Instead of potatoes or peppers like I've had in other restaurants, it had small vegetables that looked like large peas. I was told it's a very small eggplant commonly used in Thailand. I've been to Siam Paradise and had a couple of cold ones while sitting, watching the videos, listening to the music, and just relaxing, talking stories and having a few laughs with other customers and beautiful hostesses. I like that atmosphere this place carries, a very friendly and open-minded establishment serving authentic thai dishes, hot and spicy and very delicious. Service is a little slow bit the drinks are fair priced. The venue is a little run down but they host pool leagues here and the food is a hit or miss depending on what you get. I personally had the pad see ew and that was pretty ok. The curry tasted old, if that makes sense but hey, the parking here is pretty big for Hawaii and it can get busy here.
