Oh the food is so good here I already wanna go back tomorrow…. This has been on my list for 2 years… lol and I finally got to try it for lunch today!
Now I understand why this place got good ratings and a long line of people waiting to get some yummy Chinese vegetarian food at this cafeteria-style restaurant.
I got to try their 3 dish combo plate that comes with soup or a drink. I always choose soup, plus it’s sweet and sour soup that’s hard to pass up on! The soup had a good amount of ingredients like carrot shreds, wood ear shreds, tofu shreds etc. good amount of heat too, so yummy! For the combo, I got their rice noodles with broccoli/lettuce, veggie dumplings, and potato with carrots and tofu mock meat. Wow I devoured everything. As you can see in the photo, their broccoli was so fresh and green, and cooked to the perfect consistency. The mock meat side was very flavorful, sweet and savory. And I think my favorite was the veggie dumplings. Although they could’ve been crispier, the filling was so flavorful with a good amount of crunch from the veggies. I wish they put more! Maybe next time I double up as 2 sides haha.
The place was spacious and clean with lots of tables to sit down once you picked and paid for your food. I got it as a takeout so I could take my leftovers with me right away.
I’m so glad there’s a Chinese vegetarian restaurant in town. It’s truly one of my favorite types of food to eat coz I love anything with tofu skin or tofu or gluten products. I’ll definitely go back!

Read moreUpdate: we’ve been coming here every week since our “discovery”. Each time we tried something different and tasty. Today I had 羅漢齋and 三杯「素」雞. This is by far the best vegetarian cafe in Honolulu.
Note: if you’d like some sponge cakes ($2 each) or Japanese cheesecake ($10) , then you will need to be there before 11:30 a.m. For two days in a row I waited too long and was unable to buy any.
We stumbled upon this gem on our way back to Waikiki and didn’t realize it was operated by the volunteers from Foguan Shan (佛光山), a non-profit Buddhism organization. We’ve been to Foguan Shan in California and have eaten at their food hall countless times. We arrived just before closing so the choices were limited, but nonetheless all the food we had was very tasty as you can feel the efforts the volunteers have put into the food here. The chow main was very good and the veggie balls were excellent. Next time we need to come earlier and try its other choices. The sitting area was clean and comfortable. The volunteers were kind and friendly.
Afterward, we took a quick tour of its place of worship upstairs, which is highly recommended to all who hasn’t...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to buy vegetarian food because they always have nice new dishes cooked with seasonal vegetables. I love to check out the dishes they posted everyday(except Saturday and Sunday) after 11am on their Facebook. They are all photos of freshly cooked actual dishes for that particular day. I can easily zoom in and out to see the ingredients of each dishes clearly before I decided to drive down there and get some takeout 😄. Today, while I picked up my plate lunch and my favorite Veggie Pan Cakes, I also bought some frozen "Zhongzi" for this upcoming Dragon Boat Festival. Oh I forgot to mention that they have special food or dishes for many Chinese festivals, such as homemade Moon Cake for Moon Festival, mochi red bean dessert for Lantern Festival, New year rice cake(年糕) for the New Year....etc. They have been opened many years by now, but you would still see NEW delicious dishes that haven't been cooked for the past years. I would highly suggest this place to all of you who loves to try new dishes. Interesting delicious food with low and...
