My husband and I dined here about a week ago with the rest of our family. I thought I was over our experience, but what the manager of this establishment did was just wrong. We both ordered their crazy burrito with carne asada, add shrimp. While we were ordering it, the waitress informed us it will be $3 extra for each dish to add the shrimp. That was a little expensive already, but we obliged and were still happy to do it. About ten minutes later she returned to inform us that her manager said that he won’t add the shrimp unless we pay an additional $7 EACH PLATE , instead! That just went from $6 to a total whopping $14!!!!!!! That price alone is ONLY for a tiny bit of shrimp! That’s absolutely insane, that’s the price of an entire entree!!! If we weren’t there with the rest of our family we would have entirely canceled our order. We felt forced to opt out of the shrimp which was very disappointing. Because who in their right mind would pay that much for an add on?! The manager did not pick his battle with this and definitely should have honored the original price that was quoted to us. We did end up tipping the waitress less because she didn’t try to work it out with her manager. We will absolutely NEVER be coming back and will tell others to eat elsewhere in the Hood River area. This restaurant does not deserve our support if they’re going to be that stingy. On another note... we were not informed that this burrito was going to be smothered in what turned out to be a very salty red sauce. No where on the menu did it mention that’s how it will be served and I have always highly disliked any type of wet burrito....

This is legitimately the best Mexican food that we've eaten outside of New Mexico and Southern California. If you're passing through Hood River town and craving tostadas/tacos/enchiladas, please stop looking at all other options and stop here. Their food is freshly made, piping hot and delicious! We had the arroz con Pollos and ceviche tostada and they were both delicious.

The ceviche tostada was the perfect balance of salty, acidic and crispy with some fresh avocado goodness. Yum. The arroz con pollo was hearty and satisfying, and the rice was soft, flavorful and delicious.

Even their tortilla chips and salsa were amazing. I asked if they sell their salsa, and they do, but, alas, only in to go containers and not mason jars. Next time I'm here, I'm coming with a dozen mason jars of my own 😆. The owner was very sweet and even offered to give me one of her own jars to take it with me ❤️.

Their flan, btw, is the only thing we could take a photo of as our hangriness had faded by dessert time. The custard was nicely set, the caramelization was right, it was just the right amount of sweet and syrupy and is likely the best flan I had ever eaten.

To summarize, the food was amazing, very reasonably priced, the service was top notch and the ambience was lovely as well. Don't bother thinking about the other 5 (6?) Mexican restaurants in the vicinity, this is THE...

My husband and I stopped for tacos after my doctor's appointment this morning but before the lunch crowd arrived. Our only obstacle going forward is my husband can't walk very far without some type of assistance, which has usually been me up until 10 days af9

. When I dislocated my shoulder and fractured the humorous bone, all in, the same accident, luckily we utilized the online mentoring make our selection - l walked in to place our orders saying; Pleas make it to go as I paid the very pleasant hostess, that had taken the order. Without any hesitation she. anticipated the dilemia I was about to face and tells me, "You are welcome to have a seat or if you prefer to wait out with your husband I will bring it out to you as soon as it's done. I was & still am so bewilder on how this little gesture of what customer service is all about and it leave me with a positive warm fuzzy feeling everytime the Hood River Taqueria crosses my thoughts...OOPS I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THE OBVIOUS. THE TACOS...

No no no I was starving having been on road 3 hours passing through area. My whole family ordered tacos, other reviews about authentic, is NOT! We are looking for somewhere else to eat right now. What a waste of money. Meat was undercooked, bit into a chunk of fat first bite. I couldn't swallow. Not a picky person tasted really off and undercooked. I ordered AL Pastor, REAL al pastor has a slight char, meat dripping down spindle ans pineapple juices make for a mouth watering experience. Hubby ordered pork- Caritas Praying we don't get food poison Texture was not that of cooked beef and cooked pork, mushy. Got to go boxes, paid and left. I will cook leftovers and feed meat to my dogs when we get home. Go somewhere else Staff was friendly enough, the Pepsi was good. That's about it.

I've eaten Mexican food all over the country, including Texas and Arizona, and this place rivals the best of them. I had a carnitas torta and it was hands-down the best torta I've ever had. It was huge! No skimping here, and the pork was perfectly done, with crispy bits throughout, the way it should be. The bread was delicious, too. My husband had a fajita burrito with steak, and he said it was very good. It's served wet and was also plenty big. The service was very friendly and the patio is perfect for dining in pleasant weather, with lots of trees and shade. The whole establishment was very clean and you can tell they take a lot of pride in it. I'm really glad the breakfast joint we drove by was way too busy and we ended up here. Worth a stop if you find yourself in Hood River!
