Not a great experience overall. The sign on the door stated that their alcoholic beverage permit was suspended for some type of rules infraction. The ice dispenser had a bucket under it with a sign saying "cleaning" and the counter person promised to get ice, but never did. Pizza was ok, but greasy. Staff had a nonchalant attitude, couldn't really tell if they cared about the things listed above that seemed to be embarrassing? I would have been apologetic if I were in their shoes.
Edit: Response from owner certainly not apologetic. Owner: "Sorry for the inconvenience with the ice...Beyond our control...Professionally cleaning ice machine..." Not an inconvenience - that would have been waiting for the server to BRING ice, which they never did. Why would you wait till literally the lunch hour to perform this maintenance, sell your customers drinks at full price, and not provide any alternative ice? The ice cools the liquid that the fountain machine is dispensing. Warm soda, yum. Owner: "Other restaurants have disgusting ice machines..." That's undoubtedly true...but so what? How does that excuse not providing an alternative ice source for an hour or 2? Owner: "It was a week ago, why did you decide to complain now?" I complained at the time, nothing was done. I typically a week to leave a review so that I don't say anything in the heat of the moment that would be unfair. I stand by my review. Also, I still tipped the server. Poor management is probably not...
Read moreHorrified. I had the misfortune of having the most disgusting dining experience of my life this evening at Pelinti Pizza. I came into the restaurant to pick up my order and while waiting in line to get checked out, I noticed a man in the dining area having a lively conversation with two women, all the while, kneading pizza dough barehanded. The trio were having an animated conversation while the man continued to knead the dough, no doubt covering the dough in spittle particles in the process. One of the women even questioned whether it was "okay" for the man to be kneading dough barehanded, to which he responded that, "it's fine" because he didn't have "any cuts or sores" on his hands. I continued to wait my turn to pick up my pizza, all the while vigorously hoping that this was a customer who had purchased pizza dough to-go and was overcome by the desire to knead it immediately, while still in the restaurant or an employee practicing his kneading on dough that was to be discarded. Alas, this was not the case. The enthusiastically-conversing, barehanded dough-kneader walked right back into the kitchen and began flattening that dough out to become someone's pizza. I was horrified and speechless. I will never order from Peliniti's again and I suggest that you don't either...unless, of course, you're looking to be disgusted and possibly contract...
Read moreFirst time here and it's good! Overall the folks here were great, helpful and friendly. Pizza was very good, but I have some suggestions/preferences.
Let's start with the facility. It's located in a strip mall type development which I'm not a fan of, but the space in the building was well done and pleasant. It was clean and organized.
The pizza was very good as I noted above. I ordered my typical margherita to focus on the basics. I'm not a fan of sliced tomato's as opposed to sauce. I think you have some opportunity with a sauce to refine the flavor as opposed to just use plain tomato slices. The second item is the basil...they used chopped leaves and lots of them. Looked like a light salad on top of most of the pie. I prefer full or large torn leaves and not over done. It should add to the flavor and create some difference between the bites...that's what I like anyway. I also like some of the leaves to be a bit toasted. I'm picky...sorry.
Now to the crust...the most important element of any pizza!! They pretty much knocked it out of the park on this!! It was light, crusty, bubbly, chewy, etc. Not the best I've ever had, but probably top 3...nice job!!
So overall, great place and I would definitely recommend it and will be back!! Hoping they modify the margherita to my...
