I am glad to see more eateries like this in the Hood River Valley. Apple wood works really well for barbecue and with all of the apple trees around here producing a lot of wood whenever they get trimmed up it stands to reason we could have some amazing BBQ in this neck of the woods.
The marker on google maps makes it look like this business is in the same building that Monagan's pancake house and Mama Nita's kitchen used to be in but its a food truck in their parking lot, just to help anyone avoid my brief confusion.
I stopped in for lunch. There was no line and the service was friendly and prompt.
I ordered the "Burnt Ends Melt" sandwich. It was very good. Excellent smoky flavor in the burnt ends. Bun was fresh. The melted mild cheese went well with the intensely flavored meat.
I also ordered a side of baked beans and another of coleslaw and they were both good. Nice little kick on the beans, which I enjoyed.
I will definitely be coming back.
Edit- as of July ‘23 the food truck is gone from its previous parking lot. Not sure if it’s closed or changed locations. Will update if I find out more...
Read moreI tried this place for the first time at the Hood River County Fair. As you can imagine lines for food where very crazy. This spot did not have a line so, naturally I asked the lady at the booth are you open do you folks still have food? I figured they had ran out of the food. The crowd was unbelievable lines were so long but this booth didn't have a line oddly. The lady responded very rudely "why wouldn't we be open" I still tried to be nice and make conversation about their food and how the fair businesses was for them but she was short and not very good with her customer service. I ordered 50.00 worth of food because all In all I had a taste test of the beef brisket and pork ended up opting for the beef was very tasty. But honestly her service was not good and may never try their food again due to that face to...
Read moreThere is no atmosphere. It's a food truck in a parking lot. Not even a pretty parking lot.
I've only been once so i can only speak to one product, the pulled pork sandwich. Don't get it! The BBQ isn't what i prefer, more flavor, more sauce, but the real problem is that it won't be a sandwich for long enough to eat half of it. The price/quality is fine, not great, but as a sandwich per-se, it's pure fail. You'll end up eating at least the last half with a fork.. don't bother. Order their pulled pork in some other...
