Horrible customer service.

Server would not bring water until all 4 party members were sitting at the table.

We were sitting at a hibachi table. First person ordered a hibachi dinner. I was in the middle of ordering (sushi) and the server interrupted to ask if only 1 person was ordering hibachi because we couldn't sit there if only 1 person was ordering hibachi. We said that only 1 person was getting a full hibachi dinner, but 2 other people in the party were ordering a la carte items from the hibachi menu. We were then told that we needed to move because we could not sit at the hibachi table since only 1 person was ordering a full hibachi meal. They weren't busy, so we weren't taking seats from someone else and we were easily ordering $200 of food/ wine. He would not budge and said we had to move tables, so we said we were leaving. He then tried to stop us to pay for a glass of wine that had been delivered while we were ordering. I had not even had the chance to take sip because we were too busy being told we needed to move tables.

I understand that the tipping structure in a hibachi/sushi restaurant might be complicated and they want to fairly compensate their staff, but that was not the way to handle this situation. This policy is not posted anywhere, and not on the menu (though there was a policy about extra fees for plate sharing at the hibachi table). I would even understand a minimum order or a sitting fee (which is essentially the plate sharing fee).

I like to be fair and give an honest review, we just had a most terrible and humiliation from the manager and the owner of this restaurant, that made my 11 years old girl to cry and ruined our anniversary dinner, went for hibachi asked for 2 adults hibachi and kids hibachi from the server, after taking our orders a manager that couldn't speak English showed up and said, we can't give your girl kids hibachi because she looks over 12,I asked how do you know she is over 12 and his response was, we had a birthday party while ago and kids on that party were over 12,but said 11,I asked what that has to do with anything ,this is America, how do you know how old is my daughter is,you can't just say something without a proof, this made my family upset so much that my kid started crying, they did not care about us and were rude and obnoxious, please to all families with kids, stay away from this restaurant and avoid it like a plauge, they are bunch of crooked and dishonest, who run this place, we will not be back, and will report them to the chamber...

Eat here all of the time. I got a take out order tonight. Ordered a side of “hibachi teriyaki chicken” and side of fried rice. When I get in to pick up my food they’ve fixed me the big order of the “hibachi chicken” for a total of $31. I politely told her this is not what I ordered. She rudely told me that I don’t need to say “hibachi”. Never apologizing for the miscommunication, just continued to tell me I said the wrong thing when I called. I was only on the call when placing the order for 16 seconds per my call log.. so that should show how impersonal she was. She could’ve easily clarified what I was ordering. Thankfully there’s a new hibachi restaurant that just opened closer to home.. if it’s as good as I hear, I won’t be back here! No sense in this type of customer service! Especially when you’re paying $17 for a two item meal...

This is a great Japanese restaurant on Hwy 280. The service is some of the best in town and everything we’ve tried on the menu has been delish!! Tonight we visited after not eating here for months and they remembered our order, our preferences, even our favorite table. We had the filet mignon and shrimp with mixed vegetables, noodles, and fried rice. The meal came with a salad with ginger dressing and a bowl of miso soup and we added an order or edamame. Perfect meal, attentive service, and reasonably priced!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mt. Fuji. Great Hibachi cooking and entertainment. Our chef was hilarious and great with engaging everyone at the table. My meal was definitely up to my standards and expectations. I’ve ate at a lot of hibachi restaurants back in California and in Alabama, and Mt. Fuji has become one of my top 3 favorite ones.

Consistently great food. The cooks are all entertaining and personable. The portions are generous and delicious. This is one of our favorite places to go on special occasions. We typically plan on spending 30 dollars per person and that is usually accurate. they are closed all day on Mondays. Still great in 2025.
