Don Pepe Inc — Restaurant in Hoover

Absolutely horrible Service. I never leave reviews. Ever. But was left speechless by how we were treated. Ordered two margarita drinks and cheese dip. Took one sip of our drinks and they were horrible. I don’t complain ….but these were horrible. Took 20 min for a server to come back and check on us. (They we’re not busy at all) we actually had to go and ask someone to send us our server. We told him about our drinks. He walked away. Took another 15 min and us waving down someone else……for someone to tell us They wouldn’t make a new one or switch it out. So we asked for the check for the cheese dip. That we would go eat and drink somewhere else. They refused to compensate us for the drinks we didn’t drink. And our bill was over 55 dollars. He then proceeded to show us on the menu where it says no returns or exchanges. Says ALOT about a restaurant that has to put that on the menu. I’ve never ever seen that on a menu. If they would have tried the drink they would also know how bad it was. If they would have switched it out. We would have ordered dinner and more drinks. Good customer service goes a long way. I would never eat at this place again they have a very obscure idea of Mexican food it's self (I grew up in a Mexican/American household I'm not expecting homemade but this was hot garbage on a plate. We knew it was a bit pricey, but it was right across the street from a my brothers apartment so we decided to stay close and dry for our Mexican craving it was also raining further up 280 inside the 459 inner ring. Safe to say we next time my family and I would be more willing to walk to Mexico in this thunderstorm for a better experience than what Don Poopes has to offer. After it was all said and done I paid $14 dollars for a combo plate that cost $9 at their summit competitors. Not that Don Poopes even compaires to their authentic summit Mexican food on anything other than price and wait time! There is a major difference in wait times though!!!!!! Don you wait on service, and your food instead of beaing seated!!! Just wait to be seated at a nicer resturant, it's worth the wait. Been going there for a long time and it's been awesome. Went there last month for my husband's birthday on April 16th. There was all the same faces and great food. Went there for my birthday last night and they had a whole new crew including kitchen manager. We got served stale chips and the waitress wasn't bright at all. We placed our order and he didn't get all of his order and asked her if she noticed what's missing and she looked confused. He didn't receive his tortilla shells. Mine was completely wrong and when I told her this she replied that she didn't bring me my food. After trying to explain it to a female Forrest Gump there I asked to speak to the manager. She comes back to the table and asked if I wanted it replaced and said yes. That was the last time I saw her. A guy brought me a new dish and didn't say a word and left. Another guy ran over there and threw our bill down and ran off. The food had no taste, the waitress was dumb, chips were stale, and had another waitress glare at us from another table. Recommend that you don't waste your time or money on this horriffic...
