Overall the store itself is great, I’ve always been a big fan of Hobby Lobby; however, I will say it feels like management has gone down as well as quality customer service. I had an awful experience with a girl named Kelly who was demeaning and down right rude. She acted like assisting me was the last thing she wanted to do and her attitude certainly showed it. She was even condescending to her Asst. Manager Cheryl. She mocked my return, told me she didn’t think she could give a merch card because “it was no longer allowed” (I had my order#/receipt so this wasn’t an issue) and then informed me she couldn’t refund back to my card - could only offer cash. (Which after investigating HL return policy, I found out this is false. But whatever.) The manager was there in the beginning and witnessed some of the transaction, but he never said a word. I also believe another manager - maybe asst manager - Jolie was there the whole time as well (I’m not positive of her status within management though). I do appreciate Cheryl explaining their policy that you cannot return items in store that have been damaged, and offering a customer service number as well. But I will say, with employees this rude, I doubt I return to this store particularly. Which is a shame as it’s my closest one and used to...
Read moreI was VERY disappointed today at the management and absence of customer service at the Hobby Lobby on Hwy 280/Doug Baker Blvd in Hoover, Alabama. Over my lunch break on Friday, March 5th, I went to this Hobby Lobby store to return two picture frames and a few small prints, and had my receipt. One of the picture frames had quite a few dings/scratches on it, but this is 100% exactly how I purchased it at a Hobby Lobby store across town. Instead of considering one ounce of customer service, the manager looked at the frame and said to the cashier, "We won't accept a return on this because I won't be able to re-sell it in my store." When I explained that I purchased it exactly how it was (it was still in its packing), it made no difference to her. She was clearly more concerned on her ability to re-sell the one dinged up frame "in her store" than to even consider the inconvenience to the customer to have to go across town to return the frame to the store where it was purchased. That was a VERY poor representation of Hobby Lobby as a whole if individual store sales trump...
Read moreI don't have a need to shop here much like I used to when I lived in Orlando Florida and did so much for the Boys and Girls Club and the Woman and Kids Shelter down there. But, on occasion like at Christmas when my gym does a Toy Drive for Love Lady Foundation I shop a LOT lol....with that said I love Bargains and would only buy something here if it is on sale and even then you have to check prices but for the most part it is easier to buy while you are in the store holding it for your purpose then to shop around for hours or days to save any more. The atmosphere in this store is bright and they are usually well stocked and the staff has always been very helpful if help is needed and you track someone down. Cashiers are always friendly, after all why not they are taking your money right? lol....but even then, they don't have to be friendly and smile BUT THEY DO so kudos to them for their customer service attitude here!! So, stop in here if you are needing a something for a project or gift and beware of prices and try to find a bargain first and splurge second lol....have...
