I visited tropical smoothie on highway 150 today to purchase my regular, strawberry limeade and upon entering, I noticed quite a few staff members behind the counter. There were 2 ppl making smoothies and 3 young females in a huddle near the side employee door talking. After being greeted by the black male making smoothies, about 2 mins later, a young black female approached me asking if I had been helped. Now, my issue with this is when I had arrived there were only 2 other customers present, along, with maintenance fixing the roofing. There should be no reason why any customer should have to stand during a slow period in the day when the restaurant itself seemed to be overstaffed at the moment. After taking and paying for my order, a white female made my smoothie ( which took additional 5 mins) due to being distracted by the presence of her 2 friends who had purchased some smoothies and were walking out. As they were making their exit, she continued to speak loudly over the sound of the blenders and other customers, whom by now had entered to ensure her friends heard her. After repositioning myself and standing in front of the counter where she was making the smoothies, she began to speed up. After finishing my smoothie combination, she looked at it and proceeded back to the counter to add more ingredients just to re-blend the smoothie again. After receiving my smoothie and tasting it, the smoothie tastes like ice. I started to re-enter the store to speak with a manager to have it remade but knew enough of my time had already been wasted. Tropical Smoothie used to be amongst the greatest smoothie places to visit, however, the last few times of visiting the location on Highway 150 has been subpar. Not to mention that now I am taking additional time out of my day to complete this review. I know that it is summer time and a lot of the staff may be college and/or high school students, however, my suggestion to management is for them to ensure each employee knows the ingredients and how to measure to ensure consistency within the taste of smoothies. In addition, focusing more on being prompt and how to provide a better customer service experience should be a focal point as well. After the last few experiences not meeting my expectations, I will not be visiting this location for awhile ( if ever) but rather Smoothie King located in the Galleria...
Read moreWent a couple months ago and was thinking about this experience and it made me so upset i had to write this review to warn others. I went in mid-day and there were no customers and only one employee not wearing a uniform. I was informed as soon as I walked in that they were not making food (quite rudely) and that was fine because I didn’t want any food. I asked for the chocolate banana smoothie in a large cup and was informed that I would have to buy 2 and they would be put in 2 children's cup. NEVER in all my years of going to tropical smoothie have i ever been told that. I tried to explain nicely that I’ve had it done before and he was very rude in saying they shouldn’t have done that and it’s not allowed. So I’m looking at the menu and he informs they’re out of something else and that’s fine so I ask for a blueberry bliss and he informed me there was a recall on blueberry’s so I left. I looked and looked and could not find any blueberry recall anywhere. I believe he lied to me and just didn’t want to help anyone. I have been a loyal customer of tropical smoothie for over 10 years but i will never return to this location again. As I was leaving he went outside and began taking photos of the store not sure if he was a store manager or owner but that behavior is unacceptable. 0/10!! Before that and when I walked in he wasn’t doing anything at all just on his phone. Totally...
Read moreI am not one to write reviews but this interaction NEEDS ONE. Service and staff is absolutely terrible and rude. Acted like they hated their life and did not care to serve or acknowledge their customers. I placed a to go order 30 min before they closed for my husband to pick up. Called and was placed on hold for almost 15 min while I could hear them in the background, called back again..no answer, called AGAIN and she answered saying "what you want". I proceeded to place my order where she said paying over the phone was not an option... My husband goes to pick up the food and as he is standing there waiting no employee of the THREE (one sitting at the table eating) even looks at him or acknowledges him for 10 minutes so he finally says something. She doesn't even verify his order and says "you ready to pay? not even knowing what he got! As more customers come into the store he is still waiting and nor do they even get acknowledged. By the time he got our food, the other customers waiting hadn't even been spoken too. Overall, they make you feel like you're a burden to them and you should take your service elsewhere until these employees are dealt with. They say 2 words, minimal eye contact, no context clues,...
