Mother's Day Restaurant — Restaurant in Horicon

I ordered the veal and spaghetti which was the same price as the lasagna on special on Thursday. I am stuffed. Food was only moderately flavorful. Salad was small, but bleu cheese dressing was good. Spag. sauce was okay, but not mom's by any stretch. Nothing sticking to these noodles and while thick, nothing to write home about. Veal was crispy on bottom. Corn did taste like it was out of a can. The lasagna that I saw others eating was a HUGE portion! Would rather have that. Desserts looked awesome, but I didn't try them. I'll give this place one more shot, probably. Jenny was a very friendly waitress, and the manager was friendly as well. The decor in the place was very nice, but perhaps the flower motif was overdone, but it was tasteful. Clean, too. I was surprised that there were only 7 people in there on a TH night at 630.

Moral of the story: nice decor, tight parking, very nice staff, decent prices, okay food (thus far). I'd agree with another reviewer that I got the sense maybe this place caters to an elderly crowd and perhaps that's why the food doesn't taste more...

Mother's Day may not look like much on the outside, and is a bit outdated on the inside, but the breakfast here is fantastic. We stopped here mid-November of 2023 on our way back from the Dells in search of a diner that served home-style meals. Mother's Day did exactly that with quick and friendly service. My husband's traditional breakfast of eggs, hash browns, toast and bacon was served hot and delicious, and my biscuits and gravy were just what I needed after spending a weekend of indulging. The biscuits were soft, the gravy creamy and savory, the hash browns and bacon crispy and the eggs nice and fluffy.

There are a lot of breakfast options here, and I don't see where you could wrong with any of them. No nonsense, no frills, just a good home cooked meal to get your day...

My friend and I stopped in there on Wednesday morning, July 10. 2023. I had seen that restaurant on passing through Horicon for quite sometime, but had never been able to eat there, so I was looking forward to it. Boy, was I disappointed!! Service was wonderful, but the food was very disappointing. I ordered 2 eggs, hash browns, and wheat toast. When it arrived, the hashbrowns were basically old and the eggs were just barely warm. I sent the breakfast back . When it was redone, the hashbrowns were very hot, but the eggs were barely warm. I was very disappointed, as it could be a wonderful restaurant. I will not return. After we left, my friend told me that her breakfast was about the same, but she is not one...
