Tijuana Flats — Restaurant in Horizon West

We have given this location a pass for being “new” for too long now.

T Flat’s is one of my kid’s favorite restaurant, and we frequently eat here as well as other locations. This is the only location where our order is consistently missing something or incorrect. Every time. For both pickup and dine-in. Tonight we’ve decided we’re done. We’ll go out of our way to the Windermere location or eat elsewhere over visiting here.

Tonight we ordered a Take Home Taco Kit, a large queso, and a Chips and Guac starter. Because we know this location always misses stuff, I tried to look through the bags in the parking lot. All that I noticed missing on the first pass was the (2) 4 oz “Don’t be a Chicken” sauces that I ordered. I sent my husband inside to ask for them, and the same worker that brought us the curbside order assured him that she had personally made the sauce containers and put them in our bag. He reiterated that we looked and didn’t see them, thinking she’d just hand him more, but instead she insisted that we’d missed the sauces and they were at the bottom of the bag. Fine. My husband didn’t want to cause problems, especially in case we were somehow wrong (spoiler alert, we weren’t, and it’s free sauce…why wouldn’t she have just offered more instead of being defensive?) We were in a bit of a rush so he told me that maybe we were wrong about the sauce and we just came home. Upon unpacking the whole meal, we discovered that we were definitely missing the 2 sauce containers, we were also missing the sour cream that should have been part of the taco fixings, and we were missing a bag of chips…one should have come with the taco kit, and there should have been a second one with the “chips and guac.” I certainly regret tipping on this order and at this point I regret ordering from this location at all.

Tonight’s saga is just one example in a long line of subpar experiences here. The food is good - standard TFlats fare, but the service is terrible. They consistently make mistakes and miss items, are never gracious about their mistakes, and never walk around offering refills for dine-in service like other locations. It was totally empty tonight too, so it’s not as if they can’t keep up. We’re done with the...

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience I had at your store.

I placed my order over an hour before arriving, yet when I got there, my food was not ready. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked about my order and was told by Manager Kaleb that it would be “another 5 minutes.” After another 20 minutes, I was informed that they were confused and had just started making my order.

When my food was finally brought out, several items were missing (queso, refried beans, and black beans). In addition, both entrées were incorrect — toppings were missing, and three of the four tacos were supposed to be double-stacked, but none were made that way.

When I brought this to Kaleb’s attention, instead of apologizing or offering a resolution, he simply asked me to repeat my order so they could remake it. By this point, I had been in the store over 40 minutes with no food. I asked for a refund, which he processed without remorse, apology, or alternative resolution.

The store appeared very disorganized, and I even noticed employees playing inside the kitchen, which only reinforced the lack of professionalism. When I asked Kaleb for the manager above him, he initially told me it was “on the door,” but no name was posted. Only after pressing further did I learn that you are the manager, and the phone number he provided for you was disconnected.

I have always enjoyed Tijuana Flats in the past, but this experience left me extremely disappointed. The service, food preparation, and lack of care shown by the staff are not what I would expect from your brand.

This is my first time trying this place and it was close by where I needed to be, so I thought I would give it a whirl... The interior of the place was super clean and the service was fantastic... The place has a giant orange grove mural on the wall to pay tribute to the area that used to be an orange grove...

I'd like to give a shout out to the lady by the name of Sheila who was working the register... She was absolutely awesome...I seen her take care of customers and wipe the tables down asking people if they needed refills on their beverage, etc...She was everywhere...

As for the food it was not bad at all... I was quite surprised on how well it tastes to me... I had a shredded chicken taco which was quite tasty and a steak salad that had all the right ingredients... The proportions were good and the value was there...The meat for either of them was nicely seasoned... When you order an item from the menu they give you some tortilla chips on the side as well...It's a nice little touch...

This is the best Tijuana Flats I've been to... I went to another location the day after which left me feeling disappointed... So I'm glad that I get to review this location because this is the spot to check out...
