I had a Rodeo burrito just a few hours ago. It was, as usual, absolute perfection. Rodeo is my favorite restaurant in Houghton and really maybe anywhere. I went the first time and wasn't sure. Second time wasn't sure. Third time I was hooked. Rodeo has a simple and fantastic business model and it is quite "accessible" as a result of this as well as the conduct of the very friendly and skilled staff members. Rodeo has delicious food and wonderfully fresh ingredients. Recently I wrote to them on the Facebook and asked if they could make a hotter salsa (they make all of their own salsas and are VERY good at it). I got a reply in less than 24 hours mentioning that they would do it! I went back after just a single day and one of the employees gave me a sample of the new salsa which was PERFECT. I love Rodeo for the great staff, the quality and tastiness of the food, and most importantly their business practices. I've never found a restaurant with the level of integrity, passion and just plain dedication to the customer that I've found in Rodeo. You owe it to yourself to try it out. Once, twice, three times and then 100 after that! I'm a Rodeo addict and I couldn't be happier about it. Thanks for everything, Rodeo! Best restaurant in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was traveling during the summer of 2017, I had just finished riding the Michigan Tech Trails, on Michigan Tech. Universityās campus, when I was told the best place to eat in Houghton was, Rodeo Mexican Kitchen. I loaded the bike up and headed down the hill to get some good post ride grub!
I wasnāt disappointed, in fact, it was even better than I was told or even expected... Iām vegan so, I ordered the bean/rice veggie burrito and it was AMAZING!
However they prepare their beans is what sent my burrito over the top, it was the best vegan burrito I have ever had so, good I stopped back in again on my way back through Houghton after spending a week in Copper Harbor. This time I ate one at the restaurant and also bought one for the road. I was on my way to the The Porcupine Mountains and needed some nourishment for the road. I wished I had bought two!
I canāt recommend this place enough, the food was delicious, the service was great, and the bathrooms were clean. If you are in the area, stop in yourself, you wonāt be disappointed.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a small place, but wirth the stop EVERY time. Close to the university and most importantly it is great food fast, rather than fast food.
The owner uses top quality products to produce top quality freshness and flavor. Roasts his own chiles and offers various levels of āheatā to homemade salsas. Superb freshness and flabor.
I have heard sone folks complain of price, but personally, I would rather pay more for the best. Approximately $8 for a burrito that has to be a pound of food if not very close. The barbacoa is amazing. Meatless options are also fresh and delicious.
The meal ending (or starting, if you are a dessert first person ) jewel š is the Mexican chocolate cake. This gem takes two days to create. It is an amazing combination if greatness. Spiced chocolate cake with a generous layer of pistachio cheesecake sealed in delicious chocolate ganache topped with roasted pistachios.
My favorite way to eat this delicacy is to share it with a friend!
Do not pass the opportunity to enjoy good food...
