I went to super 8 for a birthday party for a 7 year old girl. When the room was booked the staff was informed that it was for a birthday party. As people were arriving with their gifts and supplies, we had asked the front desk if we could set up the cake and present area in the conference room and they had said yes. We made sure to let them know we will clean up after ourselves and put everything back in order. Which we did, also vacuumed. We had a total of 30 people that were in the conference room for cake and ice cream. While in the middle of opening presents and taking pictures, one of the ladies from the front desk came over and rudely said to move out of the way from the microwave since people need to use it. We replied back nicely with a no problem. Unfortunately the rudeness did not stop there. After cleaning up our mess, the small amount of children that were able to go swimming went to the pool area. All of those children were accompanied by their parents, which only 2 of the parents went into the pool. There was a total of 2 adults and 8 kids that were actually swimming. The other 5 adults were sitting at the table watching the kids swim. As they were have a good time for at most 10 to 15 minutes the manager came down and kicked all of us out and called the cops before doing so. We had no warnings previous to this. We were told that there was a 4 person limit per rented room in the policy. When we had asked for a copy of the policy, we were told there wasnt one. After going through this whole ordeal, we asked for a refund on our room but was refused one. After talking to the police we packed up and left the hotel. On our way out, the birthday girl was looking at one of her new toys while the one manager was talking to the child's mother, she walked into the corner of the fire extinguisher box that was protruding about a foot out of the wall and was not painted red to be visibly seen. It was sad to say that this young child's birthday was ruined abruptly and for no good cause. If I could give this establishment a no star...
Read moreSo, my nieces mom rented a room online for her 7year olds birthday party and all the staff were aware that we were having a birthday party because we made sure we could use the breakfast area to eat cake and open presents...so after cake and presents some of us decided to migrate down to the pool area (6 kids and 4 adult) and the manager and front desk lady made their way down to the pool area and rudely preceded to tell us that they had a complaint from his brother about the amout of people that were in the pool area and that only the people renting the room could swim and we were completely fine with that so rite away without hesitation we got all the kids and parents out of the pool and went back to the room but the manager neglected to inform us that before he rudely told us we couldn't swim he had already called the cops without a single warning first so after wasting a hour of my nieces birthday talking to the cops my nieces mom decided she wanted a refund since we had only been there for 3 hours they refused to refund the already overpriced $120 room or even give us a partial refund because apparently we disobeyed their policy and when we were at the front desk I had asked the lady for a copy of their policy that stated guest could not swim and she rudely told me that they didn't have one, and then to top it all off as we were leaving my 7year old niece cracked her head off the corner of the metal fire extinguisher box that sticks out of the wall atleast a foot and after that happened the rude lady at the front counted decided to change her tune a was trying to be nice and asked my niece if she was the birthday girl so my niece replied yes and then the lady asked her if she had fun and my 7year old niece said no because you ruined my birthday I hope this establishment is happy they ruined a 7year olds birthday I could completely understand if we were being rude and drinking or something like that but none of that was going on I would never recommend this place to anyone and if I could give it zero...
Read moreThis Super 8,Lakeside room, #160, about $130, we stayed here Tues - Wed, Aug, 30?,2023, was really a pleasant stay! I'm usually critical, but the bed was pretty darn good (I'm a MN'n, so it's hard to give compliments), AND they had continental breakfast, which wasn't anything to sneeze at! Frosted Flakes and raisin bran were the cereals, some singly packaged smaller frosted pastries, which came in apple, cinnamon, cherry cream cheese I think? The spot where you can make your own waffle by flipping the burner on a timer, there were two of those, some apples, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, water from the tap, hard boiled eggs already made, salt, pepper, sugar, peanut butter, silverware plastic, along with small yogurts which I think were strawberry and one other flavor. All in all, I thought that was a very good spread, despite the reviews that I had read earlier that it was abysmal. The view onto the lake was greaaaaat! The drive into the hotel, was terrible! Maybe my GPS was confused, but it had us going down these roads that didn't quite look like roads. Also when we were driving into the sun, we couldn't see a dang thing, so we felt like we were going to drive over the edge of the guardrail. So be very very careful Where You Are driving. Also! If you're going to get a soda/pop in town, just wait till you get to the Super 8 Motel because it's only $1.50, cash, and that's for the new Baja passion fruit punch Mountain Dew flavor, as well as any other Mountain Dew or Diet Mountain dew. Or Pepsi products. I thought that was an excellent deal because usually it's about $2.29 or more., or at least where I'm from, in Minneapolis minnesota. Please see all 50 of...
