Definitely the best cafe in the area. I've tried them all. The drinks are head and shoulders above the quality of any other place. The bakery options are fine with primarily Skinny Pete products which aren't my favorite, but good enough if I don't want to stop anywhere else. The main weakness is the lack of the lage array of ingredients that you can request at Bigby's, but it's also unfair to compare as Bigby has the supply chain of a large company available. If they had horchata (or if they do I don't know about it) then I would be able to dump Bigby's entirely, as an iced oat milk horchata latte is one of my favorite summer drinks. My favorite drinks: All with or without oat milk - Peppermint latte/Summit - Honey meil - (iced/hot) matcha latte The interior is nice as well. It reminds me of The Lab cafe in Ann Arbor.

Tranquil and trendy are the two words I'd use to describe this boutique style coffee shop nestled in the heart of Houghton. The menu options are unique and complex and I very much appreciated the wide variety of milk options they had. The interior was clean and bright with both tables and chairs as well as couches to relax at. The barista took their time making my drink to ensure it was made with care. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to not feel like another number and have some mid quality drink churned out without any care or attention. I got an iced matcha latte made with vanilla and macadamia nut milk and it was so creamy, fluffy, smooth and delicious! I'll definitely be back to try their other options later too.

Coffee-The lattes are made by a high end well trained barista, and you can tell. They have the regular lattes a city cafe would have like lavender honey and mocha, but some unique ones as well like smores and seasonally blueberry matcha! The lattes are named foresty themed which is nice too. Atmosphere- it’s like being in a beige mom insta. I mean that as a compliment, it’s relaxing. Service- just one worker, but she was quick friendly and made really cute latte art, even though she knew I was just going to put a cap on it. Love it. This is also an inside a clothing/decor shop that opens later in the day.

It's meh. It's a bland cookie cutter coffee shop that you can find in any city. Baristas are friendly as per usual. Creamer tasted sour but w/e I already paid for it and left, I'm gonna drink it.

Here, I'll add some stuff to expand on my view of the place:

As far as coffee shops go, it's OK. Not that many options like you can get at other local shops like Steep n Brew, 5th Elm, Cyberia, etc.

The interior design is...sparse. The stark white walls don't really make the space feel welcoming nor do I think that they suite the area. Darker interiors tend to suite this area better as they make the space feel warmer which is especially needed during the cold winter. It doesn't feel like a space I'd want to spend some time in. Also I don't want nor do I need a refund to leave a better review, I'm simply stating my honest opinion and I'll leave it at that.

Overall compared to the other shops of the area it just doesn't offer that much to make it unique besides it's stark...

Per Bryon's review a few months ago. I agree. Now, I am a regular and I do love the coffeeshop but it is how do we say... basic. And I understand that. Nor is that a horrible thing. My go-to is an oat milk matcha so It's not like I can really say much about basic. The interior is stark white and while I can appreciate the direction it is going for I can also see why someone would call it cold. I have also had several people tell me they feel the same way and a few have expressed not returning because it did not feel welcoming for them to be there. Again, I can understand. The design choices are not for everyone and that is okay. It appeals to certain people.

The drinks and service have both been really good and it is always clean! This is one of the best shops in town. Only a 4 star because of...
