American Deli — Restaurant in Houston

Regardless how “good” the food might be. The service here is absolutely garbage. I ordered my food and ran two quick errands. I arrive at the time my food was projected to be ready (5:40). I sat in my car for 7 minutes before walking in. I was then told my food was not ready despite my order tracker saying it was ready for pickup.

When I walked in a lady was ordering with 4 little girls with her. More people came in so I went and sat in my car. When I came back in 5 min later (5:57), the lady with the kids was gone…so she got her order that fast? For 5+ people?

The girl who told me that my food wasn’t ready at first, had my food and was looking for me. I get my food, get out to the car and take a bite out of my food and the temperature of my food didn’t give “straight off the stove”. The temperature of my food felt like my food was done 15 minute prior like when I had first walked in.

I’ve gotten fresh fried rice here that burned my mouth but my chicken sandwich and fries were WARM. It looked dry like the chicken had been cooling off for some time. I couldn’t even see the grease on the fries like if they just came out the grease.

So the girl lied to my face and had my food cooling off while I waited OR she was that incompetent. Either way, another reason I rarely eat here....

I recently visited American Deli and had the pleasure of trying their Philly cheese steak along with some wings. The food truly stood out, with the cheese steak offering a satisfying blend of flavors that was both hearty and delicious. The wings were a great complement, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispiness and sauce. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring a fulfilling meal. However, it's worth mentioning that the dining experience can vary slightly depending on the staff on duty. While some employees go above and beyond to provide excellent service, others may not seem as welcoming, which can impact the overall atmosphere. Despite this, the quality of the food makes it a place worth visiting, especially for those craving a good cheese steak or a batch of flavorful wings. A solid 4-star experience, with the hope that customer service becomes as consistently good...

I'm normally used to the location on Cullen and Reed Rd. This location is Cullen and Beltway 8.

The service isn't the same. When I tried to call my order in, they hung up the phone in my face. When arriving at the location, my husband questioned the employees who were hanging up in customers' faces. The ladies pointed out this one lady, and she was laughing about it like it was funny. We could have matched their energy and gave them what they were asking for, but then they'll be quick to say the customers are problematic.

The wings, fries, and philly were cold. I don't understand that because we stay right down the street from this location, and the wait to get the food was long.

I will stick with the location on Cullen and Reed Rd. They have better service, and the food quality...
