Went here on a Wednesday night about 2 hours before closing. They were not busy, and we were able to get seated quickly.
The place was pretty dead, so I was expecting at least decent service. I always like to give servers the benefit of the doubt, but given my experience last night I find that hard to do.
Service was poor. Our server was nice, but inattentive and slow to bring out every single dish/drink that we ordered.
I have a pretty low bar for what I consider at least "normal" service, but I really do have to say that I did not enjoy the service we received last night. I understand how hard servers work, and how busy they can be sometimes. Our server last night was simply lazy.
Our server got us started with waters at the beginning, and after bringing them to our table, seemingly disappeared. Remember, the restaurant was almost completely empty. I would not have given it a second thought if she was slammed with tables, but she was not.
After the waters, she disappears for another 15 minutes to come take our drink orders. Ten minutes later, she comes back with my single beer and my partner's cocktail.
Food takes 25-30 minutes to come out. This one I can't blame on her - she of course does not control how fast the food comes out of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the food sucked. The gumbo was way too salty - overpowering any of the other spices. My main dish was an oyster po boy. The oysters tasted rancid and not fresh. I should have known better than to order oysters at a place like this, but hindsight is 20/20. The bread was hard, stale, and extremely brittle. I couldn't even finish my food.
Our server checked on us a total of 1 time, and I asked for some mayo. After 10 minutes of waiting for one single serving of mayo, and my food getting cold, my girlfriend goes up to the bar to ask for it. It then magically arrives at our table shortly after.
I had to ask our server for the bill, and waited another 15 minutes for it to arrive. Remember, this is now close to closing time and the restaurant is almost completely empty. I walk up to the bar and make eye contact with our server and ask for the check.
Overall, do not waste your time coming here. Maybe the experience is different on a Friday or Saturday night, but I have zero interest in coming back here. The food sucked, the service sucked; the only good thing about my experience was my single can of beer. Hard to mess that one...

Now I understand I placed the second order later so of course we were expecting to wait for that second order. We live in humble so we drove 30 minutes to pick up our orders. When we get there the girl tells us BOTH of our orders are marked as ready, yet she only hands us our first order of 15lbs. She then tells us to pull up to the tent and give them our second order number so we can wait for them to take it out and that āit should be ready any second because itās already marked as completedā We do as told and park facing the kitchen door. About 12 minutes go by and nothing on our second order, keep in mind we have 15lbs sitting in the car & we still have to drive back home 30 minutes. My boyfriend decides to speak to the guy in the tent and he radios about our order, the person on the radio replies āyes itās been out hereā so they go to grab our order & as I mentioned we were parked facing the kitchen so to my surprise the girl grabs an order that has been sitting on their table outside for over 10 minutes we SAW FOR OURSELVES when the guy brought it out. My boyfriends tells her that itās been out there and their employ had the audacity to lie to his face āno it just came out they just brought it outā when we saw them bring it out over 10 minutes ago at that point. We talked to the manager and he apologized said he would give us a discount for the inconvenience. He said we didnāt have to wait that he would do it on his own, and email me a receipt. IT NEVER HAPPENED. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited a couple of business days until the transaction posted and no longer said pending, but nothing I was charged in full for both orders. We got home to cold bugs & a sour taste in our mouth from this place which I was originally excited to try. Horrible experience, and horrible customer service at the white oak location. This was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. Table of 3. The orders were 2 pounds of crawfish (with a side of garlic bread), an order of shrimp and grits, and the French Quarter Plate. Drinks were 2 iced teas, and a Sprite. The crawfish came out first, and the server said āthe garlic bread will be right out.ā 13 minutes later (after my grandson had completely finished his crawfish), my French Quarter Plate arrived. (Still no garlic bread, and by now, all three of our beverage glasses were empty.). 11 minutes later, I was taking the last few bites of my French Quarter Plate when my husbandās shrimp and grits arrived - - looking most unappetizing as if it had been lodged under heat lamps for the past half hour. My husband mentioned that we were still awaiting garlic bread, and that we all needed refills on our drinks. āCertainlyā¦itāll be right outā she said. As Iām sure youāve guessed, the garlic bread never made it to the table, and our drinks were never refilled. The waitress then presented us with the bill, which not only included the garlic bread, but she had the audacity to bill us for TWO ORDERS of shrimp and grits, in addition to our other entrees. I asked to speak with a manager. Went through the entire ordeal with the manager, whoās only reply was āIām really sorry.ā I told her that her apology was lacking and had to demand that the double billing on the shrimp and grits be removed, as well as removal of the charge for the garlic bread. She complied, but seemed annoyed that we had complained. THIS DINING EXPERIENCE WAS A TOTAL DISASTER! An inept server, that has no business in the food...
