This happened In October. My wife and I were there to watch her alma mater’s Football game, after it was over, we focused on watching the Astros game. During the football game there were other issues, that were very frustrating and one of the guys in our group got quite angry and left after having words with the Manger (this factors into the story). Towards the end of the Astros game we asked our server for our tab. She brought it and then a few minutes later she came by and asked us if everything was ok because she didn’t see our card in the folder.
(Paraphrasing) Me: No, it’s good, you have our card still and we want to pay with that one. (We gave it to her at the beginning to start our tab as she said it is easier since when the game is over everyone wants to leave at once.) Server: I didn't give it to you? ME: Nope, you still have it. Server: Are you sure? ME: Yes. You never gave it back to us. S: Well I don't have it. ME: Where is it???? S: Ohhh, well I think I accidentally gave it to the guy that got mad. ME: OK, so you gave our card to another person?? S: I guess so. He was with your group. Don't you know him? Can you just call him? ME: We don't know him. How did you lose our card!?! S: Well can't you just cancel the card? ME: Yes, but that's the only card we have to pay with. S: Ok, well I don't have it. ME: Looks like you need to find it. S: Are you sure I didn't give it back to you? ME: Look, you lost our card, what are you going to do about finding it. You need to figure that out. S: ...Uh....Let me go talk to the manager and see if he might know.
With the way the night had gone so far, and the fact that she acted like it was no big deal that she lost our card and it was gone, we were beyond angry!!! She assumed that all people in our group were friends can could just call each other up. That’s not the case the Alumni group has over 300 active members and at any one watch party there will be people there that we may not know. She wasn't worried about the fact she had lost the card, so at this point I was ready to call the cops and report that the server had stolen my card...a few minutes pass, and she comes back.
S: I found your card, it was in the office. After the guy left there was a few cards and the manager didn't know what to do with them so they were in the office. Us: So, you gave our card to another customer and almost lost it? Good thing you found it.
SO yeah, once the server returned our card to use, we paid our tab and got out of there.
The thing is, this isn't the first week of abysmal service. The previous week (October 6th) We were there with the Alumni group watching the game. Just after the second half started we had to wait over 25 minutes for our server to come by. We finally flagged down another server to find ours. Then after our server brought us the drink my wife had waited 25 minutes to order, the server took 15-20 minutes to come back by and check on us. She wasn't busy working -- we saw her socializing during this whole time. Let’s just say her tip that night was really bad, 1% to be exact.
After the second incident, I'm not sure how many more trips will be making to Christian's. I think it comes down to it, if some close friends of ours are there and we don't have any other plans we will come out, good bet we will just watch the game at home. Between the way the Alumni group was treated, the absolutely horrible service, and one of the servers losing my credit card and playing it off like it is no big deal, its hard to justify coming to Christian’s and deal with the headaches, frustration and downright anger that comes with Christian’s ineptitude to treat the customers with any sort of respect.
BEWARE CHRISTAIN’S DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT HOW MANY BUTTS THEY HAVE IN SEATS.
I hope that people will read my review and think if Christian’s is really a place they want to go. I mean who likes 25-minute waits for a drink, who likes their card getting lost by the staff??? I...
Read moreFrom out of state. Right next to my hotel. Went Thursday. 9/2 Good service. Blonde bartender catered to who she felt like. Sat down at a pretty empty var and still had to wait til this Asian male bartender took care of me. I hope she didn't get any of the $20 tip I left him. Tried to get cash out just for him but of course ATM didn't work. Went the next day Friday at night. Excellent service. Same Asian guy was working. He showed me mad love. He was working with an excellent female bartender. She was a sweetheart . Appreciated a polite well tipping patron ftom the night before. Today Saturday 9/4. Bartender was ok. The same blonde holy than thou lady who I think may be a manager. Not so much. I really didn't appreciate them not trying to satisfy and out of town patron. Its a sports bar with multiple TVs. I asked the bartender if she could put it back on the game I was watching. Miami vs Alabama. Now I get its Texas but the bar was basically empty and they could have pit at least one tv on a different game. But no all TVs were playing the same 3 games. Instead of just saying something they just kept walking by. Had to ask again but I did see how the blonde lady reacted when her bartender asked. Its hospitality you cater to the guess not your own personal feelings. It was rude and inappropriate and it made me ready to get back to Florida. In Florida we'd put all the games on not just that states. Won't go there again. It was to slow to wait for anything and especially to be rude about a guest request. They also ran out of what is obviously a popular beer. Double down on your kegs like every other business. That was one of several beers they ran out of on college football day. I hate when people in hospitality act like that. You filled out the application. Not my fault you don't want to be there. I'm also going to mame sure I mention this on my very popular site. No one I know will contribute to those types of business practices. I just paid and left. What's a sports bar that only plays 3 games on...
Read moreI recently moved to the Houston area and was really excited to have a local burger joint, Christian's Tailgate Bar & Grill, right next door. However, my experience at this establishment with a friend left me deeply disappointed. The main issues were the rude customer service from Lorena and the subpar quality of the burgers.
Upon ordering, we requested a few customizations to our bacon burgers. Unfortunately, the staff didn't seem to pay attention or care about our requests. When our order arrived, we were greeted with squished, overcooked burgers that were filled with an excessive amount of pickles and shredded lettuce. It felt like a lackluster attempt at a burger.
Considering the disappointing quality of the meal, the total bill of approximately $40 was disheartening. If I had wanted a mediocre burger, I could have easily gone to McDonald's at a much lower cost.
What saddened me the most was the complete disregard for customer satisfaction, exemplified by Lorena's rude behavior. As a newcomer to the area, I was hoping to find a local burger joint that would become a favorite, but unfortunately, Christian's Tailgate Bar & Grill fell far short of my expectations.
In conclusion, my visit to Christian's Tailgate Bar & Grill was an absolute letdown. The lack of attention to customer requests, coupled with the disappointing quality of the burgers and the high price, made for a disheartening experience. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a delicious, satisfying burger and pleasant customer service. I hope the management takes note of these concerns and works towards improving the overall dining experience for...
