UPDATE #2: Was contacted by the Manager who offered to repair the recliners. The recliners were picked up and repairs were completed and returned within 2 days with zero cost to us. That was much appreciated. Again, everyone that we dealt with were entirely professional and pleasant. Hiring good people is where Bassett excels. Too bad I can't same the same about their quality in furniture.
UPDATE: Contacted Customer Service as suggested in their response. Bassett sent out a technician on 8/7/2024. He stated we needed new motors and switches on both chairs. Two weeks later, I reached out to Bassett since I had not heard back only to be told it would be $225 to repair each chair plus $40 shipping. No warranty and they don't install the parts. Same answer really....only one year warranty. Was a total waste of time and effort. One thing Bassett has going for it, is that they hire very nice people.
We had the pleasure of dealing with Liz as our sales person. She was so helpful and efficient. Could not have been more pleased with her. We bought 2 motion recliners with Crypton fabric. After we received them, hubby complained his wasn't comfortable and his feet hung off. Purchased a matching ottoman one year later. Here we are 2 years later and the recliners no longer recline. One recliner looks like it is 15 years old. The 1 year old ottoman looks just as bad. Called customer service only to be told there is a one year warranty and ours has expired for all items. Read moreBuyer beware! I bought a sectional (and thousands of dollars in other furniture & accessories) from Bassett and was sold a $500 protection plan from Guardian on my sectional. My sales rep told me that it would cover damage done by pets. I had a cat at the time, and I was worried that she may damage the sofa, so I paid for the protection plan. Fast forward 4 + years, I get two puppy dogs and they chew on the arm of the chair. (Minimal damage). I called Bassett and they told me to call Guardian. I submitted all the paperwork, photos, etc.. to Guardian, and they denied me. They said that BASSETT decides on the time period a person is allowed to report the damage, and that BASSETT chose to allow customers to have 5 days to report the damage. Damage occurred weeks before not five days before. In addition, I was promised that it would cover pet damage, but it does not. Guardian said that it's terrible that Bassett would make promises just to make a sale. I called the manager at Bassett and complained, as I bought this sofa from them, and they never mentioned that I would need to report the damage immediately (within 5 days). Bassett customer service was NO help. They tried to blame Guardian and told me it was an issue with the delivery date. I explained to Bassett that they should do the right thing and fix the damage, but they were unwilling to make this right.
