I’ve been to this taco stand SEVERAL TIMES when it was $13 and when it was $16 so It’s safe to say I spend with them. On 3/7/22 I spent $33 with them . I simply asked for them to hold the GREASE a little bit which I’ve witnessed someone else ask ( and they did for them ) but for me they took offense to my request. Let’s just say the amount of grease from the meat was so much it literally spilled out of the bag onto my dash . They knew what they did because when I went back to the window the cashier had that slightly concerned look on his face when he asked “ May I help you with something sir?” He was expecting me to be belligerent and obnoxious because of my appearance. Im better than that . I calmly threw my grease field bag away in the trash and asked for another bag for my plate after I drained all of the grease off of the meat in the plate which I will say made a puddle on the ground outside of my car. I feel like regardless of appearance of oneself they should treat all customers the same and do what they ask if they’re spending their money at their establishment. It’s sad people Minimize the money that you spend with them and treat you a certain way when you make a certain request because you look a certain way. Extremely unprofessional and careless. Bottom line the only care about your money and not delivering quality service that you may request especially if you look a certain way . PERIOD . If you don’t believe me just ask them the hold the grease. You’ll either get a rebuttal or you’ll get more grease than you can handle. Especially if you dark skinned with nappy looking...

Hands down the best Carne Asada (Grilled Fajita) Tacos or Quesadillas that you will have in all of Houston, TX. They offer different meats such as Fajita, Barbacoa, Pastor, Lengua, and Tripa which are all tasty just depends on your liking. They have Salsa Verde and Roja that could be put on the food or if your like myself it could be sipped right out of the small cup.

They open up early and call it a night a little past 1am-2am, so if you're itching for some good after party/clubbing food this is the spot to go. But, make sure to take cash because that is all they take.

The prices are a bit on the high end: $2.00 only meat/$2.50 for meat quesadilla, but that is only because the price of meat and produce keeps going up (however they do notify the customers by putting up a sign).

PS. Have been hitting this Taco Truck for 15+ years and counting...yet their quality is always the same which is PERFECTION!

Also, they recently added extra parking due to...

One of my good friends swore these were the best tacos in all of Houston. Lucky for me it's minutes from my work. We came one day for lunch and pulled up and it's a taco truck that is affixed to a certain location and they even built a gate around it to keep it secure. It's probably smart since they are cash only!

We ordered 2 specialty plates, one fajita and one barbacoa. What makes them specialty is the meat is covered in cheese. When you order the plates it comes with meat and then corn tortilla on top and the cilantro, onions, and salsa are all on the side for you to make as many tacos as your heart desires.

The plate is packed to the brim and for the cost could easily make 6-8 small tacos per plate. My only complaint is that this place is truly a take away spot. There are no chairs or tables near by. We tried eating inside the car but it was too messy so we had to take it back to the office.

Everything...

Love these tacos! They taste great and are open late. The fajita is always soft and never dry. I love the avocado salsa that they give, goes really great with the tacos. They come with corn tortillas which are not hard pretty soft and flaky and really compliments the fajita. They also have other tacos like lengua and barbacoa which are also really good. When I went was like around 10 at night and they were still pretty busy but they move really fast. I would say was about maybe 4 people infront of me and max time I waited for to order and get the food was about 20 minutes. Roughly I pay about $2.25 for a taco which might seem somewhat pricey but I do feel like it is worth it. If your close by Main I would say definitely stop by and give it a try, you won't regret it.

El Taconazo is a not so hidden gem in North Houston right off of Fulton. Don't let the location or the line scare you off. Even when it seems like the line is endless, it moves quickly enough. The food is excellent. My go to is a few quesadillas with LOTS of their green sauce and a side of charro beans. When I'm feeling extra, I order the Plato Especial, its a pile of meat and cheese with corn tortillas on the side. Regardless of your location in Houston, I highly recommend eating here! NOTE: They do not accept card, cash only!
