To keep it short and simple: , if you’re in Houston and craving delicious Tex-Mex with top-notch service, I highly recommend this place. Oscar’s outstanding service will ensure you have a dining experience that’s both enjoyable and unforgettable.
I recently dined at the Tex-Mex Restaurant in Houston, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, a great dining spot. The menu was extensive, featuring a range of Tex-Mex classics like enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos, as well as some intriguing house specialties. The restaurant's décor was vibrant, with a blend of rustic and modern elements that set a comfortable, yet lively mood. Our server, Oscar, truly made the evening special. From the moment he approached our table, his enthusiasm and professionalism was evident. Oscar was knowledgeable about the menu and provided thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. He suggested the house-made salsa and guacamole, which were both fresh and bursting with flavor. The salsa had just the right amount of kick, and the guacamole was creamy and perfectly seasoned. Throughout the meal, Oscar’s attention to detail was remarkable. He checked in regularly to ensure our drinks were refilled and that we had everything we needed, without ever being intrusive. When we had a minor issue with one of the dishes, he handled it promptly and with a genuine concern for our satisfaction. For the main course, we had beef fajitas and the cheese-stuffed enchiladas. Both dishes were served hot and were packed with flavor. The fajitas were accompanied by a colorful array of sautéed peppers and onions, and the enchiladas were smothered in a rich, savory sauce. The dessert was a highlight as well. We tried the churros, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, paired with a delicious chocolate dipping sauce. Oscar’s exceptional service elevated the entire experience. His personable nature and attentive service made us feel valued and well-cared for. The meal, combined with his excellent service, made our visit to the Tex-Mex Restaurant a...
Read moreWe threw a surprise birthday party for my brother here in the party room & it was wonderful. I live in Austin so all the pre-party planning was done over the phone. Aussie Torres, the manager, was so accommodating from the first phone call I made to inquire about the space to the last of our group walking out the door after the celebration. The room was set up the way we had agreed & at the specified time. Alberto, our waiter, could not have been more competent. He adroitly & efficiently took orders for margaritas & beer as our 35 guests came in. Since I was preoccupied greeting & talking to guests as they came in, Alberto would discretely ask if I was ready for the appetizers to be served, told me when the buffet was ready, & asked if we were ready for the birthday cake to be brought in. When extra people showed up, tables were quickly set up to accommodate those folks with no one the wiser. My brother did not get to eat since he was visiting with all his friends so Alberto boxed up all the leftovers & had them ready to go home with him at the end of the evening. The food & margaritas were delicious & everyone had a great time. I can’t thank Aussie, Alberto & the staff enough for the professional & efficient way everything was handled. We routinely eat here when we’re in Houston so we knew the food was good & we found that hosting an event in the party room did not disappoint...
Read moreTLDR; Service was wack and the quality wasn't worth the price.
A good portion of Tex-Mex restaurants have both red and green sauce with the complimentary chips. This place only had red. No biggie. It was kinda good. But it took several minutes for us to be greeted by our server. I don't even think we got his name. I asked for water and Sprite, my friend asked for Dr. Pepper with lemon, and the waiter didn't bother asking if we wanted an appetizer. We had to stop him as he tried to hurry off. He later returned with the sodas, but no water or lemon. The water was never brought out. A rule of thumb for most waiters is to bring out the check when to-go boxers are requested, but we had to wait for a separate encounter. I should note that each of his visits were spaced out tremendously. In an attempt to get his attention towards the end of our meal, he told us to wait as he zoomed off, forcing him to make an additional trip and make us wait even longer as we were ready to leave.
The food itself was overpriced for the quality. The cup of queso (without meat and peppers) was nearly $9 and bland. I could understand the small size for a tremendous flavor, but nah. The overall flavor of my enchilada was good, but the chicken inside lacked seasoning and was a little tough for my liking. I wasn't impressed with the rice either. In all honesty, the best part of our meal...
