Gyro Hut has quickly become one of my go-to places whenever I’m craving something fresh, flavorful, and filling. The food here is consistently excellent, and every visit leaves me satisfied. Their gyros are the highlight for me—the meat is always tender, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked, tucked into soft pita bread with fresh veggies and that creamy tzatziki sauce that ties it all together. Honestly, it’s one of the best gyros I’ve had in town.

I’ve also tried their platters a few times, and they’re just as good. The portions are generous, with a nice balance of rice, salad, and protein. The chicken and lamb both have amazing flavor, and even the falafel is spot on—crispy outside, soft inside, and never dry. Their hummus and sides taste fresh, and you can tell they put effort into every dish.

What I really like about Gyro Hut is the consistency. Some places can be hit or miss depending on the day, but here the food is always prepared the same high quality, no matter when you go. The service is also a big plus. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and quick, so even if they’re busy, you don’t end up waiting long for your food.

The prices are very fair for the amount of food you get, and it always feels like you’re getting a good value. Whether you dine in or grab takeout, the experience is smooth and enjoyable.

All in all, Gyro Hut is one of those places you keep coming back to because the food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the people are great. If you love Mediterranean food, this spot...

I want to thank the employees for being at work during the snowstorm. One of the only places in Houston delivering and selling food at this time and also up until midnight!

This is my first time ordering from Gyro Hut. I ordered a chicken plate and a chicken sandwich with a side of fries and hummus.

Unfortunately for us, the chicken was inedible due to an ENORMOUS amount of cumin (main ingredient of chili powder) in the chicken. It was so overpowering no amount of white sauce could cover it up. We were unable to eat more than 2 or 3 bites before giving up. What a shame. This chicken is a 0/10 for flavor, but a 10/10 on texture, temperature, and presentation.

The fries were excellent and so was the hummus and pita. Both were 10/10.

I am not sure if the chicken is always like this, but a quick search in the reviews revealed that another patron had the same problem (WAY too much cumin) in the gyro. Perhaps this is the normal seasoning? If so, if you have a problem with cumin or chili powder, or any allergies to it, DO NOT eat here. However, if you like cumin, this may be the best chicken you've ever had!

I gave 3 stars because my own personal taste shouldn't be the entire score, even if the amount of a particular seasoning used was truly outrageous. I would like to try them again but if there was a way to order without...

I'm by no means an expert on halal food, but I try to go off of my previous experiences and go from there. Overall, i really enjoyed this place!

I got to try their falafel and their combo chicken/lamb over rice. Their falafel was good, not dry or crumbly like at a lot of places. Their lamb was good too. What really stood out to me was the chicken. It was red from their seasoning I think, so it was pretty flavorful, and it was actually moist! I can't tell you how many times I've been to a gyro place and gotten combo rice plate only to be picking the chicken out because it was too dry. This time my friends and I were digging for it lol.

We got both waffle fries and crinkle cut fries cuz we love carbs lmao. Obviously both were great. One of our friends got a chicken/lamb wrap and put some fries in it, and it was a game changer! Their pita bread was good and had just the right amount of fluffiness to chewiness ratio for me.

pro tip y'all: EXTRA WHITE SAUCE ALWAYS. The mild red sauce has great flavor and won't burn your butt after lol. The green sauce is like a mild mint chutney that paired nicely with the flavor of the chicken. The fire hot sauce was just as it sounds lol tread carefully.

The manager and servers seemed really nice. I feel like they have a lot to offer and I'm...

Fast service and great integration with the Allset app, which offers up to $5 off on all menu items. Food always comes out hot! I've had the gyro fries platter and the gyro rice platter. The gyro fries platter is served with a generous amount of gyro atop crispy crinkle cut fries, and they give 2 white sauce and 1 hot sauce. Huge amount of food perfect for sharing. The gyro rice platter has a very balanced serving of vegetables, meat, and rice. The basmati yellow rice is seasoned very well and still hot (unlike a lot of places where it's served lukewarm), the lettuce for the salad is good quality, and the gyro is hot, well-flavored, and surprisingly juicy. They always have a lot of smoothies available and vegetarian options but have been too obsessed with the dishes I've tried to explore further. Parking is typically always available as everyone mostly orders takeout. Good amount of space and tables inside.

There are a few places near the med center for halal food and this is one of the best! Stopped by for a to-go lunch on a Tuesday and it was decently busy. Fortunately the line moved fast. The plates were mostly right under $10, except for a couple of special combinations. I got the #1 combo, which is the lamb and chicken over rice. The rice plate came with corn, chickpeas, and some lettuce, which is typical for these plates. It was then topped off with the signature white sauce, but here at Gyro Hut they also add a non-spicy red sauce. You have the option of adding a spicy fire sauce if you like it hot. The food was fresh and tasty. The lamb and chicken were moist and the rice al dente. The portion size is pretty large, so it can definitely feed one hungry adult. I'll definitely be back here when I'm in the area needing my Halal food fix!

Full disclosure: I didn't eat their food. We went because there was a promotion going on for a free meal. In the end I feel like it was just a poorly planned marketing scheme (or maybe intentionally, which I feel is worse) because lots of people (myself included) waited for a little bit and then left. The line was super long and moved at a snail's pace. I think I left just on principle, more out of annoyance that I even showed up, and out of offense that I feel like they had deliberately made the line move so slowly so as to serve fewer [free] meals. I'm sad because it's not far from my house, so I would've liked a new go-to place (where I definitely would've spent money on the future), but there are so many other gyro places that I'll go to instead of this place.
