Le Donut — Restaurant in Houston

I'm glad this shop is so close to work! Far better than the Shipley's chains with lots of deliciously fresh doughnuts. If you're there early enough to catch the plain glazed while they're warm, they're so good. You can also get the Kolaches fresh and warm early in the morning as well. Luckily they open at 5am, so in the event that you need a bite to eat super early in the morning, they can help with those hunger pangs. They have the typical variety of doughnuts, but one of the things I like about them are there non-doughnut breakfast items. They have kolaches both small and large and in different flavors from regular sausage and cheese to boudin to egg filled. One of the large kolaches will definitely take care of your appetite for a couple of hours. They do also have breakfast sandwiches and soft tacos, so there's something for everyone. The place is small with just a few places to sit down and eat, but most people that come here are on the go, so they're just in and out. I’m still missing Le Donut.

Nuff said 😭 Now whenever I’m in town early enough to catch em open, it’s the first place I go to get their lovely wonderful absolutely stunningly delicious apple-filled bear-claws. It’s also the only place I know of that has apple-filled anything, that’s actually apple-filled and not apple scraps and a dash of sugar.

Also the rest of the donuts are reeeally tasty! The cake donuts are savory, soft, and flavorful. The glazed donuts are OG level 💯

Service is always great. I often send my son in to get the donuts, and the aunty behind the counter is always smiling, happy, and kind no matter who walks in.

Anyway, I’m a lifetime patron of this place. As long as they’re open, I’ll be showing up 😂 it’s the only donut place I go to. And I’m picky, very picky… so…

I wish I had photos to share but I haven’t been able to make it in a while. I happen to find this place one day and I fell in love. Anytime someone asks me about donuts I always say Le Donut is hands down the best. The donuts of course are amazing. As well the kolaches are amazing with different varieties. I love kolaches and am confident in saying these won’t disappoint! I haven’t tried any of the breakfast sandwiches but I’m sure they are just as good. I did get an almond croissant and that was great! Their donuts are so chewy and fluffy and beautifully crispy on the outside. The cronut is just a whole other experience. I can’t say enough good things about the cronut. All the donuts are perfect. People of course have preferences on which donuts they like but none will be sub par.
