Update (July 11,2023): I have given this place again another chance. Sandy who does My nails no longer work there but she referred me Theresa and she was fantastic! I'm now a regular for sure for her. Love love my nails! 😊 I'll be honest. I've been going to this salon since I think 2021 when I first found it that it's close to our house cos I always passed by it when I go to see my doctor in Med Center. Anyways, today I've went again and I was really trying to be nice and patient. Michael always does my pedicure and he does good. He sometimes does my dip powder but im avoiding it as much as possible when I go there cos my nails don't last long for some reason. Within 5 days to a week it will break and I have no time to go back so I just fix it myself. FYI, I'm a licensed Cosmetology Educator also so that's why I knew these stuffs. Today, I was charged 170 plus tips for my hands and feet (pedicure) that's the most I paid for in there that I honestly don't like and had to fix it when I get home. When I called I specifically asked for dip powder. They did an acrylic then suggested ombre. Said My nails are boring so try something different. I said sure since she (Tiffany) looks very excited and enthusiastic and I'm thinking maybe finally I'll get a good dip powder nails in here that will last at least 3 weeks or more. She is a new nail tech there and even asked for my contact info for next time. But I ended up making changes on it including the nail polish color cos it looked like a Halloween candy corn nails that should be "ombre" I suggested to put some glitters in the ends on top of the dark pink ombre so it will looked a bit better. My nails ended up very thick, wrong shape so I have to file it. I ended up having a few wounds when she tried to give "manicure" cos she said my cuticle are very dry so I said sure go ahead etc. And FYI another extra charges. The most expensive nails I had that I didn't even like and that I had to fix at home, reshape, refile and color it differently cos it looked like my nails are bleeding ombre. Lol. 100 bucks just for that! I paid 55 for full set I've had in Austin before I went there today and that lasted almost 4 weeks, I just really needed it done today that's why I went there. With my Pedicure it was always worth it cos I always pay around that amount, the prices went up which is I understand. 55 bucks for deluxe pedicure plus additional 15 for shellac I think. That is fine with me cos my pedicure usually last longer, no problem. But my nails I have today I have to put neosporin on most of all my cuticles cos it hurts so much cos she rinse the blood with acetone for it to stop instead of alcohol or something else for bleeding. It is my fault for not saying anything, but I won't shut up anymore next time if I ever come back. Also, when im paying same nail tech checked me out, I gave her 80 cash and rest to my card. She charged the entire 170 in my card, good thing i saw it! I told her that and she said just do it all in my card so she dont need to fix it. Smh! I got my cash back fortunately cos i saw it. Bummer I liked this location! I didn't even plan to leave a review like this but my cuticles hurts and I'm so disappointed that I had to fix it myself as soon as I get home to think I paid a lot for it. Smh. Edit: I came back to this place only abt 2 weeks after and I had to get it fix already. I went on a Tuesday cos I remembered the lady who did my nails said she is off Tuesday and Lo and Behold she was there! She wanted to do my nails again and I told her what she did and that she overcharged me. She denied it and I said nope that was her and that I want someone else to do my nails. At first she insisted to do removed my old nails and I said I would rather have someone do it all and finally she left me alone with the help of Michael. They are talking in Vietnamese. Anyways, then I met Sandy and she fixed my nails. And ever since then I've been back twice with her. Stay away from the lady named Tiffany or rather make sure ask how much first so she won't overcharged you.

I just moved in the area and was recommended to a nail salon at Holcombe and Greenbriar but the atmosphere was too hectic for my taste 🄓 so I left. On my way home I noticed Grand Lux and decided to stop. As a walk in I was seen quickly. The ambiance, yes ambiance was perfect. There is a large dip color selection (Almost overwhelming)! I did an acrylic soak off with a dip service to my natural nails with 1 repair (Total $50). My tech offered me a drink and we got started. He was pleasant and very detailed in his work (Which I LOVE in a technician)! He maintained my shape, kept my nails thin yet sturdy and made sure my cuticles were straight as well! I hope this review helps (Because when I’m dissatisfied, I move on. My last salon, I was a client for over a year, and the service became lax. I hadn’t had my nails done for 6 weeks while I’d been scouting for a new šŸ’…šŸ½ spot and I think Grand Lux is it) šŸ¤—

I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I requested a 35 minute pedicure and I was in there for 1.25 hours. They filled up the foot bath with lukewarm water and left me there for 20 minutes, in still water. It was very weird and awkward. Then halfway through the pedicure, the lady working on me disappeared for another 20 minutes and I was sitting in dirty water (she washed her tools in there) for that entire time. I also noticed the tools she used were not sanitized (most nail salons will sanitize their tools and put them in a blue bag, she was reusing tools on me). I was in between running errands and although i planned in ample time for this pedicure, because it took so long i lost extra time to let the polish dry and ruined my pedicure. Waste of $45.

I’ve been visiting Grand Lux on and off for 3 years now and feel like i can give an honest review.

Overall the salon is very clean and feels upscale. The front receptionist is an older woman is is very friendly and I’ve never had an issue with a walk in.

Facial room is adequate, though i did find for the price of a facial my experience was a little lacking.

On most occasions I have both a pedicure and a set put on. Most of the time the quality is slightly above average and quick. I haven’t seen the same nail techs each time I’ve gone in so it’s harder to request someone specific. A minimal few of the nail techs are friendly, otherwise your experience is probably going to be quiet.

I found my most recent experience to be disappointing (which is why i am writing a review). My nail tech struggled with her English and shrugged when I asked for more powder colors for my nails. She then proceeded to finish painting her nails while i sat at her station waiting to get started. Eventually when she was ready to begin, she cut me twice on my left hand on two separate fingers between the nail and the skin. When i made a face she stopped to look at the damage before continuing to run the nail file over the same spot she just cut.

on the first powdered nail, I noticed the color did not cover the entire nail. she had another tech come and try to ā€œpryā€ it off with her fingers. Eventually the new tech took over and began stripping the nail while my first tech sat next to her, painting and filing her own nails. The new tech talked and listened to a video on her phone while she worked on me, and stoped when another customer came in and passed me back to the original tech.

After all was done, I noticed that the powder looked very streaky, and that two of the nails were glued on crooked. At that point to be honest I just wanted to go home, so I paid and left.

I’m not sure if the tech was new, Not properly trained or just not feeling it that day, but it made for one of the worst experiences I’ve had at this salon which is really disappointing (getting my nails done for my birthday). i would say this is not the typical experience but it should be warranted since it seems like the staff constantly rotates new people. Hopefully this review helps provide some insight for...

I've been there several times always schedule an appointment or try whenever Ivy comes to work. I scheduled an appt for today @9:30 .I get there on time I waited for 10 minutes and finally someone asked if I needed help, I told the lady I had an appt with Ivy, she said Ivy was on her way but stuck in traffic, I asked how long would it be before she got there the lady said she didn't know and she didn't ask her. I asked her did she at least tell Ivy she had a customer waiting for her for now 20 minutes she just walked away. Now another comes over saying Ivy is not coming in today because her child is sick. So which lie is it?. The staff offered NO resolution. I left VERY disappointed. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Update. 8/15/2018. I called again to schedule an appt with Ivy, was told she's out again today. I asked if Eileen was available , the lady asked what time did I want to come in I said 1:30pm, she said ok. I got there at 1:15pm , I walk in the lady at the front desk asked if she could help me, I told her I had an appt with Eileen at 1:"30pm, she said " oh she left". I just turned around and walked out. I called back about 20 minutes later and asked to speak with the owner and was told by Lucy(who was very rude) the owner(Helen) is on vacation and would be back in a month. I asked if there was a manager or someone I could speak with and she said she was the manager. I told her this was the 2nd time in 4 days this has happened, her exact words were "Oh well I don't know what to tell you" . Not I apologize for the confusion. Can someone else help you. Absolutely nothing. AGAIN VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR LACK OF COMMON COURTESY TOWARDS THEIR LOYAL...
